We’ve officially hit the point of the year where more of the beauty advent calendars on our radar are sold out than available. That said, with less than a week until December 1, there are still some standout countdowns available.
What’s more is that, with Black Friday week upon us, several of the beauty hauls have seen additional discounts, saving even more money on the already-reduced contents. Plus, if you order quickly, they could be with you before you start opening them on Sunday.
Our shopping writers have been keeping a close eye on beauty advent calendar launches, discounts and sell outs since August, so have a pretty good idea of which are the best, and which ones to steer clear from. Not to mention the fact we’ve reviewed the majority of them, including budget-friendly options like 17 Cosmetics and Revolution, to higher end countdowns from celebrity-loved brands like Charlotte Tilbury.

17 Cosmetics Advent Calendar – £20.10, was £30
After their re-launch in 2022, 17 Cosmetics has quickly become a favourite for those seeking purse-friendly beauty finds. Their 2024 advent calendar is filled with 24 limited edition makeup products and beauty tools, including lipsticks, eye shadows and complexion brushes, making it an affordable way to bulk out your beauty bag.
It’s a fantastic choice as a beginner advent calendar for younger budding beauty enthusiasts. Costing £20.10 , it’s one of the cheapest available we’ve seen this year, and you could even pick up a couple and use the contents as stocking fillers.
Beauty writer Eve Rowlands tried the calendar for herself, and said: “Considering this calendar costs only £30, and is packed with 24 different products, you get a real make-up haul that’ll sort you right out this holiday season and I’m really impressed by the quality of these products. Whether you’re getting it for yourself or a loved one, it’s a treat that lovers of the brand will go wild for. It’s also ideal if you’ve been wanting to try 17. out for some time but haven’t wanted to commit to buy the mascara, primer, eyeshadow or liner full price.” Read her full review here .
Makeup Revolution Advent Calendar – £28.80, was £48
Another calendar coming in under £30 is Makeup Revolution , who’s countdown is now half price, down to £28.80 from £48. It contains a plethora of best-selling products that total a whopping £97, with 24 doors to open throughout December, meaning each product technically costs £1 each.
Inside, beauty buffs can find a carefully curated collection of full-sized and deluxe-sized products, from the brand’s Satin Kiss lipstick to Kohl eyeliners and a handback-friendly eyeshadow palette.
Eve took a peek inside the calendar, describing the reduced price as ‘a steal’. She added: “This calendar contains all the products you need to give your face dimension, colour and glamour – and the tools to make it so. Whether you’re buying it for yourself, for your teenage daughter or a friend, it’s a great way to try out some new eyeshadow, lipstick and highlighter shades without making such a dent in your bank balance. Plus, the items inside are brilliant quality not to mention perfect pieces to take away or out on the town with you – if you lose them, they’re not too expensive to replace.”
However, shopping writer Bethan Shufflebotham added: “While the Revolution calendar is undeniably good value for money, it does feel as though it’s aimed at a slightly younger audience, despite the brand being popular with a range of beauty fans. It’s also a shame not to see some of their new launches included in the haul, like their Jelly Blushes and Bronzing Drops, both of which have been popular with fans. That said, it’s still a solid, budget friendly pick for the 2024 season.”
OPI x Wicked advent calendar – £33.74, was £51.90
To celebrate the new film adaptation of the popular musical Wicked, which hit cinemas on November 22, OPI Nails has reduced its 12-day Advent Calendar gift set. It’s packed with 12 mini nail polishes in a variety of stunning finishes that will surely make your friends green with envy.
Originally £51.90, it’s now £33.74, making each polish just £2.81 each, which is impressive seeing as the full sized bottles are usually £15.60. The OPI x Wicked Mini Nail Lacquer 12 Day Advent Calendar sees a selection of shades inspired by the hit production, from pretty pinks to earthy greens. The nail polish lasts up to seven days when used with OPI’s three-step system, delivering either a smooth and glossy finish or a pearlescent one, depending on the polish’s composition.
Self-confessed OPI-obsessive and theatre fan, Narin Flanders, tried out the OPI x Wicked calendar, and said: “As a collection these 12 colours offer something for everyone. Inevitably green and pink are well represented but there’s much more versatility than that, with glittery metallics perfect for Christmas party season, more subtle shimmers and vibrant block colours. After unboxing the calendar and spending some time enjoying the wide range of colours within, it might just be my favourite OPI festive offering of recent years.” Read her full review of the calendar here .
Give Me Cosmetics – £45, was £60
If you prefer skin and haircare over makeup, then Give Me Cosmetics has the perfect festive advent calendar for you. The beauty brand’s Book of Positivity Advent Calendar will see skincare enthusiasts count down to Christmas with some of its best-selling products for a fraction of the retail price.
Unusually, it’s one of the only calendars that has not revealed the calendars full contents on the website, however, one product we do know is inside – thanks to social media influencer unboxings – is the Aloe Vera & Coconut Oil Hair Repair Cream, worth £12.
The calendar now costs £45, and contains 12 full sized products to pamper with, working out at £3.75 each. These items are worth a combined £122, making it better than half price. And while some people would prefer a full 25 day calendar, this 12 day countdown is ideal if you’re late to the advent calendar party, as you can start using it from December 13 to see you through to the big day.
Mylee Selection Box Advent Calendar – £44, was £55
Another option for those who love to have the perfect manicure year-round, but want to avoid expensive trips to the salon is the Mylee advent calendar , which is now cheaper than my BIAB nail appointments. Currently £44, down from £55, it features 12 mani-related gifts, from gel nail polishes to cuticle oils.
However, the downside is that you will need a Mylee gel nail lamp at home for this one, which costs £32, but so many members of our shopping team rave about how much money they save on manicures with theirs.
Our content editor and regular Mylee user Rachel Sloper unboxed the calendar, and said: “As someone who has done her own gel nails for more than six years, I’m always looking for new ways to up my home manicure game. Over the years, it has saved me so much money compared to costly salon visits. Unboxing the set, I was greeted with 12 individually wrapped gift boxes in handy for storing my overflowing collection of gel nail paraphernalia. But it is worth noting that this is a 12-day advent calendar as opposed to the more common 24-day. You could either open one every other day or start your advent countdown 12 days later.” Check out Rachel’s full review of the calendar here.

Fragrance fans, this one is for you. Sentier’s 2024 advent calendar is where ‘storytelling meets fragrance’. Worth £516, it comes in under £100 and contains six candles and six 10ml perfumes which are designed to ‘awaken confidence’.
Each of the fragrances are genderless, and can be worn alone or layered to create a unique scent. Some of the perfumes include ‘Lost Summers’ and ‘Fernway’, while the 60mg candles come in scents such as Golden River and Botanical Sanctuary.
Fragrance expert, Jada Jones, gave the calendar a whirl and said: “There are 12 doors in total with six perfumes and six candles. The perfumes are a generous 10ml size which is my favourite size for a new scent. I always think it’s the best to really suss out how you feel about something, it’s big enough that you don’t feel guilty for spritzing it but small enough to throw in your bag and top up as you please. When it came to the candles they were all lovely and I liked that they come with twist on lids making them easy to store. My favourite was The Florist’s Garden which was a surprise to me as I’m much more a fan of gourmands than floral scents.” Read our full review of the calendar here.

Coming in a red, heart-shaped box, the estimated value of the contents is said to be £243, which is £20 more than last year’s festive offering. Shoppers can save around £73 on the RRP of the products compared to them being purchased separately, with each featured item working out at less than £15 each.
Laura Mulley said: “At £170, Charlotte Tilbury’s certainly isn’t the cheapest, and doesn’t offer the greatest value for money compared to, say the Cult Beauty advent calendar – but you are saving over £70 on the products inside. It is of course subjective, but I don’t think it’s crazily expensive for what you get. What you are paying for is its absolute wow factor; it’s a real showstopper, and guaranteed to delight even low-key beauty lovers. As the drawers are unnumbered, this would also make a lovely Christmas present for someone special.” Read our full review here.
