£6 ‘pain-free’ dermaplaning razors has shoppers ditching professional treatments

Nimbi has launched in the UK, and you can get 20% off the Nimbi Facial Dermaplaners, which have three dermaplaning tools in each pack

Dermaplaning, a salon favourite for those seeking silky smooth, hairless skin, is no longer exclusive to professionals thanks to brands like Nimbi. Now, people can dermaplane their skin at home for less.

For those unfamiliar, dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently scrape away the top layer of dead skin cells and ‘peach fuzz’ from the face, resulting in a smooth, bright complexion. Skin that has been dermaplaned is said to better absorb skincare products and look even more radiant with makeup.

Now, cult favourite brand Nimbi – hugely popular in the US and stocked in places like LA’s trendiest grocery store, Erewhon – has launched in the UK. Shoppers can now get 20% off its dermaplaning tool.

According to Nimbi, their Facial Dermaplaners lift dead skin cells and fine hair for a ‘brighter, more refined complexion’. The pack, which costs £7.99, or £6.39 once the 20% off code DERMA20 – valid until December 31, 2025 – is applied, includes three dermaplaners, each with a double-guarded blade for extra safety.

Dermaplaning should be done very carefully, and only once every 3-4 weeks to avoid damaging the skin and allow the skin’s natural renewal cycle to complete. The Nimbi Facial Dermaplaners are dermatologist-tested, 100% vegan, toxin and chemical free, and are said to be perfect for beginners, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The set of three should last up to three months with regular use

In clinical trials, 97% of users strongly agreed that the dermaplaner made their skin smooth, and 97% strongly agreed that they did not experience any discomfort after 2 days of use. These tests suggest that the Nimbi Facial Dermaplaners could be an excellent substitute for salon dermaplaning treatments, enabling shoppers to achieve brilliant results at home.

For beauty enthusiasts seeking another choice, the Philips Facial Lady Shaver Hair Remover 5000 Series is available at Boots for £24.99. This device eliminates fine facial hairs using a hypoallergenic head, and features an integrated mirror and LED light to ensure no areas are overlooked.

Alternatively, the Gillette Venus Facial Dermaplaning Trimmer Hair Remover costs £27 from Gillette. This electric gadget works both wet and dry, and is compact too – ideal for holidays.

Nevertheless, Nimbi customers have been delighted with the performance of the Nimbi Facial Dermaplaners. One purchaser commented: “I recently tried the Nimbi dermaplaning razors, which come in a convenient pack of three, and I’m very pleased with the results.

“I usually get it done professionally. They effectively helped me exfoliate dead skin and remove peach fuzz without causing any irritation to my sensitive skin.”

One satisfied customer penned a lengthy review, stating: “What really stands out is how simple it is to incorporate into my skincare routine. I’ve noticed my regular moisturiser absorbs into my skin better afterward, and my skin feels so much softer and more luminous.”

However, not all shoppers were as impressed. One buyer noted on Beautytap: “It’s worth noting that the blade isn’t as sharp as some other dermaplaners I’ve used.

“Also, there’s a slight learning curve to get the angle just right! Overall this is a solid choice if you’re looking for an eco-friendly and gentle dermaplaning tool.”

Another user shared: “I’ve used other brands of eyebrow razors and some have been so painful and have caused me to have cuts on my face or just get so dull I have to go over sections multiple times but after using the razors it took less than 1-2 passes to achieve the look I want. To clean the razors after use I just get a wipe or napkin to remove the hairs and it’s good as new.”

The Nimbi Facial Dermaplaners are available direct from Nimbi.
