6 transfers Arsenal are looking to complete on deadline day including big-money deals

Arsenal have been very active in the summer transfer window, signing the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi, but there could be more last-minute ins and outs

Arsenal have been among the busier Premier League teams this summer, but they’re not done just yet. The Gunners have until 7pm this evening to make any more purchases and sales, though certain other leagues’ windows remain open a little longer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ebere Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Martin Zubimendi have all arrived, at a combined cost of more than £200million. There have also been some high-profile exits, including Jorginho, Thomas Partey and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Arsenal’s rivals have been busy in the lead-up to deadline day. Chelsea completed a move for Alejandro Garnacho on Saturday, wile Liverpool could yet add Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi before the window slams shut.

Mikel Arteta has been waiting for a few pieces to fall into place, but it’s now or never for a handful of deals. most of those are sales, though there’s likely to be one more new arrival.

So, what might we see in North London as the window enters its final few hours? Mirror Football takes a look at what’s at stake.

Piero Hincapie

There’s only likely to be one new face arriving at Arsenal before the deadline. Piero Hincapie’s move from Bayer Leverkusen will be an initial loan, with an option to make it permanent for around £45m next summer.

Versatile defender Hincapie started Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga opener against Hoffenheim last weekend. He was an unused sub this time around, though, as Erik ten Hag’s side threw away a 3-1 lead to draw at 10-man Werder Bremen.

Jakub Kiwior

With one left-sided centre-back due to arrive, another will leave. Kiwior has been an able back-up since joining from Spezia in January 2023, but is poised to depart as he looks for regular first team football.

The Poland international has attracted interest from clubs in England and Italy. However, Porto have won the race, with a loan with an obligation to buy on the cards.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

A number of clubs have been linked with left-back Zinchenko, who can also provide cover in midfield. However, some of the interested parties have seen changes which might put a move in doubt.

Fenerbahce were linked, but have now parted ways with manager Jose Mourinho. Marseille were also linked, but at the time of writing are poised to land West Ham left-back Emerson.

Reiss Nelson

Nelson spent last season on loan at Fulham, but the Cottagers opted against a summer move. They have instead turned their attention to Kevin, with the Brazilian due to arrive from Shakhtar in a big-money move.

There is still a chance he moves elsewhere, though. West Ham and Crystal Palace have both been linked, while the Englishman has played abroad before and could yet be tempted if an offer from overseas arrives on deadline day.

Fabio Vieira

Portuguese playmaker Vieira is another to attract West Ham links. The Hammers have made late midfield moves, though, and it remains to be seen whether they would push for him unless they lose Lucas Paqueta.

Stuttgart have long been linked with the 25-year-old as well. And the German side may have money to spend after selling Nick Woltemade to Newcastle for £65m.

Albert Sambi Lokonga

Fellow loanees Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos completed permanent moves away from Arsenal early in the window. However, it has been harder to find a buyer for Lokonga.

The Belgian midfielder spent last season in Spain, where he was part of a Sevilla side who narrowly avoided relegation. After a relatively quiet summer, he appears close to finally sealing a move, with Hamburg the likely destination
