Laura Woods, 37, and Adam Collard, 28, are engaged ahead of welcoming their first baby into the world together
Parents-to-be Laura Woods, 37, and Adam Collard, 28, are engaged!
The sports presenter, who announced her pregnancy earlier this year, this evening revealed how her future husband popped the question during a romantic break in Cornwall. Laura was flooded with comments and well wishes as she gave fans a glimpse at her stunning engagement ring.
Two-time Love Island star Adam got down on one knee during a stroll on the beach with his pregnant fiancée, with a photographer on hand to capture the moment Laura said yes! Sharing the happy news on Instagram with her 765,000 followers, pregnant Laura told fans: “And just like that… You make me happy @adamcollard Thank you @carbisbayestate – the place we fell in love and now the place we got engaged, you made it so special What a summer x
The couple are set to become first-time parents later this year after announcing Laura’s pregnancy in July. The 37 year old sports presenter took to Instagram to share the news at the time, posting a heart-melting ultrasound picture to announce the couple’s pregnancy news.
The charming snapshot also featured their pet pooch looking up at the excited pair while they both held the baby scan image. Laura sweetly captioned her post: “Hey, baby,” followed by two pink hearts. Love Island hunk Adam re-shared the delightful news on his Instagram Story.
The duo officially became an item in October and have been showcasing their blossoming relationship with cosy social media updates. Just this month, smitten Adam posted monochrome pics on Instagram to celebrate Lauras 37th birthday. His heartfelt birthday tribute read: “Happy birthday you rockstar x.”
Laura recently opened up about hiding her pregnancy from co-stars and fans as she hosted high profile sports events. The pregnant star revealed in August that she knew she expecting her first child while covering Euro 202 but kept the news under wraps from her colleagues.
The presenter, who was part of the team alongside Mark Pougatch, Ange Postecoglou, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Gary Neville in Berlin, managed to conceal her pregnancy throughout the tournament. The 37 year old broadcaster, known for anchoring ITV’s coverage of the 2023 Women’s World Cup, admitted that working during Euro 2024 was a “nightmare” due to morning sickness and fatigue.
After the tournament, she finally shared her pregnancy joy on Instagram, telling The Times: “It was constant, the morning sickness was quite difficult to battle and I was exhausted all the time. It didn’t matter how much sleep you actually got, you’d still be knackered. At least there were rest days when I was able to just chill out in my [hotel] room. I would have liked to keep it quiet for a little bit longer but I really felt like I couldn’t any more and now I’ve done it it’s a relief.”
While in Paris for the Olympics round-up show on Discovery+ last month, Laura expressed feeling “much better” than during her stint in Berlin. She said at the time: “A lot of people were speculating [if I was pregnant] online while I was in Germany, and I didn’t enjoy that. I couldn’t do anything about it and I felt quite exposed having to front it up on telly.”
“Really only a small percentage of people use social media but it feels like the world is talking about it because of how sensitive you are to it, so that was difficult to deal with because your mind is on work, but you’ve also got half a mind on something else and you’re sucking in your belly and you want to go and rough and tumble with the fans, but you have to be a bit more careful about things like that too, which is the opposite of everything I’m used to. It all meant I couldn’t enjoy the pregnancy that much, but now I’m through that phase and I can finally feel excitement.”
