Love Island star Tasha Ghouri has opened up about her time on the ITV2 dating show, where she met and fell in love with boyfriend Andrew Le Page
Tasha Ghouri, who shot to fame on Love Island in 2022, is now making waves in the showbiz world, currently competing on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. The model, aged 26, finished as runner-up on Love Island with her beau Andrew Le Page, and their love story continues to flourish over two years on.
Despite finding love, Tasha, who is deaf and uses a cochlear implant, faced a challenging time on the ITV2 dating show, particularly when she was allegedly bullied by other contestants. She has previously spoken about the difficult aspects of her Love Island journey, especially after a game of Snog, Marry Pie led to thousands of Ofcom complaints due to the treatment she received from other contestants, reports OK!
During the game, three boys pied Tasha and made cruel comments about her, leading many viewers to lodge complaints with Ofcom. Tasha confessed that the incident made her and Andrew consider leaving the ITV show. “I was standing there thinking: ‘Keep your head held high and don’t show a reaction’. There’s a clip and you can still see it in my face. It was a lot. I felt backed into a corner. It’s such an intense environment and hard to escape. You’re stuck in there together. I was ready to walk out,” Tasha previously revealed to The Sun.
Following a controversial challenge, over 1,500 viewers lodged complaints with Ofcom. Villa residents, particularly Luca Bish and Dami Hope, later expressed their regret to Tasha for their behaviour.
Reflecting on the difficult period, Tasha shared how she informed the show’s producers that she’d “had enough”, and Andrew indicated he would willingly exit the show with her. However, apologies from the boys soon followed.
“Then all of a sudden the boys apologised. It was a bittersweet moment. I’m a very forgiving person. I didn’t want to live the rest of the weeks in a negative way. I forgive, but I don’t forget,” she added. Despite initial doubts about the genuineness of their relationship from their co-stars, Tasha and Andrew’s bond has only grown stronger since leaving the villa.
The pair have purchased their first home together, and Andrew has shown himself to be Tasha’s biggest cheerleader during her current run on Strictly Come Dancing. He is often spotted in the audience supporting Tasha and her dance partner Aljaž Škorjanec, even wearing a T-shirt featuring his girlfriend’s face during one live performance.
Tasha recently described Andrew as her ‘future husband’, but things haven’t always been so smooth between the pair. They were rocked by a huge cheating scandal when they starred in Love Island together.
After coupling up at the start of the series, when Casa Amor came around both were caught out by a wandering eye. Andrew got very close to influencer Coco Lodge which led to one of the most iconic moments in the dating show’s history.
However, after some time apart, which saw Tasha move on with a rival hunk in the villa she ultimately decided to forgive and take Andrew back.
