Two women, aged in their 40s and 60s, clashed at Heathrow Airport in an argument over a Donald Trump MAGA hat, delaying take off for a plane full of passengers heading to Texas
Two women were kicked out of a queue for a British Airways flight bound for the States when they started fighting over a Donald Trump Make America Great Again cap.
The pair, one in her 40s and the other in her 60s, were preparing to fly to Austin, Texas, at London Heathrow Airport when one took offence to the hat. She demanded the other take it off, sparking a fight in the departure lounge in front of shocked families readying to fly.
The argument continued as they made their way into the Premium Economy area of the plane and both were eventually taken off the flight at the behest of the captain.
A source told the Sun : “With the US Presidential election so close, tensions are sky high. Airline crew could not run the risk of a full scale punch-up at 30,000ft. BA officials cannot recall a flight being delayed before due to a passenger’s baseball cap. It was extraordinary.”
The flight eventually took off more than two hours late, without either of the American passengers aboard. Neither women was arrested.
An airport spokesman told the publication: “Shortly after 12.45pm on Monday, 28 October, police at Heathrow were made aware of an incident involving two women waiting to board a plane in Terminal 5. A woman in her 40s and a woman in her 60s made counter allegations of affray. Enquiries are ongoing.”
British Airways added: “We apologised to our customers for the delay and got them on the way as quickly as possible.”
The blood red MAGA hats are often at the centre of controversy in the US. Available on Donald Trump’s website for £50, supporters of the disgraced president – hoping to regain the White House next month – often clash with Democrats as they wear the divisive headgear.
Earlier this week passengers at Heathrow Airport were left holding their noses after a suspected “sewage” water leak fell onto the arrivals baggage area. A customer captured the moment when ‘sewage’ water fell from the ceiling above a baggage carousel at Terminal 5.
The footage shows murky water cascading from the ceiling onto a baggage carousel at approximately 8:45 am on Sunday. One flyer, who jetted in from Edinburgh claimed the stench of “urine and old sewage” hit them as they neared the scene.
Preferring to remain anonymous, the passenger said: “As we were walking through I could hear water dripping. I thought it was raining but I noticed it was nice and sunny outside.”
