Birmingham’s annual Frankfurt Christmas Market has topped the list in Christmas Tree World’s analysis. With the shortest walk from a main station (just four minutes from Birmingham New Street), it’s perfect for a day trip – and if you fancy extending your visit, the city offered the cheapest average hotel rates out of all those assessed too. Located in Victoria Square and the surrounding streets, this is the UK’s longest-running Christmas market, giving you plenty of time to soak up the festive atmosphere.

In the capital, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to Christmas markets. There are several located at famous spots such as Covent Garden, King’s Cross and Greenwich.
Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland also offers a variety of food stalls serving delicious festive treats. It’s a popular attraction for all the family with thrilling rides and the UK’s largest open-air ice skating rink.
