A man who suspected his child was ‘too pretty’ to be his claims to have taken a DNA test to learn the truth – but he wasn’t prepared for the reality he discovered
A man’s entire world has been flipped upside down after he took a DNA test as he suspected his daughter was ‘too pretty’ to be his. The Vietnam man couldn’t help but question whether his child was biologically his because she ‘looked nothing like him or his wife.’
Hoping to be proven wrong, he ordered a DNA test to discover the truth. Sadly for him, it appears his suspicions were proven true and the results revealed he is not his daughter’s biological father. He started to grow cold and distant towards his wife, believing she’d cheated on him with another man, until he decided to confront her one day.
However, his wife denied the allegations and eventually moved out of their family home with their daughter. It wasn’t until the daughter started at her new school when the shocking truth was revealed. According to the Vietnamese media outlet Docnhanh, the girl discovered she not only shared a birthday with one of her new classmates, but the two girls were also born in the same hospital.
They formed a strong friendship and invited each other to their birthday parties, where their parents met for the first time. Her classmate’s mum was stunned to see how similar she looked to her daughter’s new friend, prompting her to take her own DNA test.
It was then discovered the two girls were accidentally switched at birth – with each set of parents raising the ‘wrong’ child, it has been reported. The two families have since been spending a lot of time with each other and have agreed to tell the girls the truth when ‘the time is right.’
Sharing their shock over the news story, Vietnam readers have been posting their thoughts on Docnhanh’s website, with one saying: “The medical staff made a ridiculous mistake. Fortunately, the truth finally came out. Otherwise, even jumping into the Yellow River could not clear the wife’s name.”
Another reader added: “It tells us that if it is not necessary, do not randomly test DNA, as it can just cause yourself unnecessary trouble.” It has not been shared whether the families will take legal action against the hospital.
