Tasha Ghouri shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show back in 2022, but confessed she was almost forced to quit after feeling isolated during a rocky few weeks in the villa
Tasha Ghouri confessed she almost quit Love Island after a huge issue left her feeling desperate.
The 26-year-old shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show back in 2022, when she became the first deaf contestant on Love Islands. She was a huge hit with viewers, and her rocky relationship with Andrew Le Page helped her gain sympathy from fans, but in a new interview, she confessed she had a hard time in the villa, and was even tempted to quit.
Speaking in a new interview, Tasha said she wanted to leave the show because there was “so much going on” with her fellow contestants, and she missed her friends and family at home. She said she spoke with the welfare officer at ITV and a therapist halfway through her time in the villa, and decided to stay on the show. “There’s so much going on, you don’t have your phones in there, you can’t talk to family and friends,” she explained to The Sunday Times.
When asked if she would go on the show again, Tasha laughed: “Absolutely not! Look, I’m so thankful for the opportunity, it’s given me the platform. I met [my boyfriend] Andrew on it, but I wouldn’t do it again.” She also revealed she and Andrew have vowed to never watch their time on Love Island back, as she prefers to focus on their future.
“It’s a TV show, isn’t it? It’s always going to be there. We look back and think we met each other and that’s all that matters. We’ve not watched it back because we don’t need to. Maybe when we’re 80,” she sweetly added. Tasha said Andrew was the “man I’m going to marry at some point”, and even admitted her Strictly Come Dancing dance partner Aljaz Škorjanec would be choreographing their first dance. “I’ll say to Aljaz, keep it slow, nothing crazy,” she smiled.
Tasha and Andrew made it to the Love Island final in 2022, losing out to eventual winners Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti, who split months after leaving the villa. The couple are one of the only duos to survive after the show finished, despite their relationship facing challenges after Andrew was seen cosying up to Coco Lodge in Casa Amor.
Coco spoke to Tasha after they had an intimate evening together, after Andrew told her he wanted to “ruin her” and kissed her breasts while in the pool. In a furious argument, Tasha screamed that he’d “f***ed” their relationship, as Coco explained what had happened. “A lot of touching, a lot of things were said. He obviously wanted to f**k me. After sucking my t**s and telling me he wants to ruin me? It was genuine sexual talk,” she shared.
She said during an emotional stint in the Beach Hut that she was devastated by Andrew’s betrayal, and said it was bad news for their romance. “He’s showed me what he would be like on the outside world and I’m not here for that… He’s f**ked it. I’m done,” she sobbed. However, the couple put their differences aside, and worked through the cheating scandal.
