The Tesco own-brand tzatziki dip that has been included in the recall has a use by date of November 24, 2024 – no other date codes are affected and are safe to eat
Tesco has recalled its own-brand tzatziki dip after salmonella was found.
The dip that has been included in the recall has a use by date of November 24, 2024. No other date codes are affected. Tesco said it found the presence of salmonella during routine testing. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
If you have purchased one of the affected tzatziki dips with the above date code, you should return it to your nearest Tesco supermarket for a full refund. You won’t need a receipt to get your money back. If you’ve got questions about the recall, customers are being advised to contact Tesco on 0800 505 555, or 1800 248 123 in the Republic of Ireland.
The tzatziki – which is a Greek style yogurt dip, mixed with cucumber, mint and lemon juice – costs £1.35 and comes in a 200g tub. All product recalls are listed on the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.
It comes after Tesco recalled its Tesco Finest All Butter Pastry Mince Pies because they may contain pieces of dried glue from packaging. This included the following best before dates: October 4, 2024, October 26, 2024, November 2, 2024 and November 10, 2024.
In another recall, Aldi recently pulled its Let’s Party Vegetable Bao Buns because they may contain sesame, which is not mentioned on the label. This means they could be a health risk to anyone who is allergic to sesame. The bao buns may also contain duck meat, which is also not listed on the packaging.
The bao bans have the barcode number 4061463842909. The supermarket has urged customers not to consume the product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. If you’re concerned about this product, you can call Aldi on 0800 042 0800 (UK) or fill out its webform.
The Co-op has also recalled its Co-op Irresistible Luxury Lasagne Al Forno because of undeclared mustard and sulphites. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard, sulphur dioxide or sulphites. The use by date included in the recall is November 17, 2024 – all other dates have been cleared as safe to eat. If you purchased online, you can receive a refund by calling 0330 041 7737.
