An OAP fatally shot a 60-year-old man inside a McDonald’s restaurant in the capital of France. Authorities raced to the scene and said the incident was linked to ‘settling scores’
A pensioner shot a man to death inside a McDonald’s restaurant following a dispute between the pair.
The suspect, aged 77, gunned down the man at the fast-food chain in the 18th district of Paris, France. Footage after the incident showed police patrolling the area and standing outside of the venue.
Later in the clip, which was uploaded on Twitter, a police cordon could be seen placed around the immediate area. According to local media, the attacker fired four shots.
The town hall of the 18th district confirmed that the men knew each other. They believe the motive was linked to the “settling of scores following an attempted racketeering”.
Police arrested the unnamed shooter who is said to have stayed at the crime scene, reports Daily Mail. The incident appears to have happened by a subway. Earlier this year, a McDonald’s worker shot a customer after they had a row at the drive-through window. Chassidy Gardner, 22, of Lakeland, US, was arrested over the incident which took place in June.
She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the crazed attack in Florida. The incident happened at the branch on East Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland east of Tampa. Retired police chief, Orlando Rolon, described the incident as “disturbing.”
He told Fox35: “What’s becoming disturbing is us hearing more about these types of stories. It’s unfortunate because once you fire that round, that round has no mercy. Wherever that round is going, whatever it strikes, it’s going to damage it or kill it.”
He continued: “It was totally uncalled-for and unjustified for her to pull the gun on a customer through the drive-through, regardless of what the situation was, unless there was a risk of great bodily harm that was going to be brought on to her, or there is a situation where someone was engaging in some activity that could result in bodily harm.
“I’m shocked that she had a weapon of that sort in a place such as a McDonald’s as an employee.” Lakeland franchise owner Lanny Sumpter confirmed that the worker has since been fired. They told The Independent: “The safety and wellbeing of my customers and crew is paramount to me as a business owner, and I am shocked and disturbed by the actions of this employee.
“Violence of any kind is never tolerated in my organization, and the employee has been terminated following a number of organizational policy violations. We will continue to work with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation.”
