Fearne Cotton and Jesse Wood have called time on their romance after 10 years of married life – and the broadcaster and author looked downcast on a trip to the shops on Sunday
Fearne Cotton has reportedly “made her circle tighter and tighter” in recent years – but her industry pals are still stunned at news she’s split with Jesse Wood.
The TV presenter was pictured on Sunday for the first time since announcing the end of her romance with the musician, whom she married in 2014. It appeared Fearne, 43, had ditched her wedding ring in the poignant pictures.
But news of the split has stunned her close friends, it is understood. A source said: “Fearne took colleagues off guard by the news she and Jesse were over. Over the past few years she’s made her circle tighter and tighter. In many ways she’s a bit of a recluse. From her time on TV she’s only really close to Jake Humprey and Holly Willoughby.”
Fearne, also an author, has worked with Holly several times since 2007 when they presented ITV2’s Holly & Fearne Go Dating, which saw the pair try to find dates for lonely singletons. In 2010, the pals released a book called The Best Friends’ Guide to Life.
While other friends have reportedly left Fearne’s tight circle in recent years, it is believed Holly and Jake remain close to the broadcaster, who is from Northwood, northwest London. The source also told The Sun: “She is the first to admit she suffers from imposter syndrome at times.”
Fearne met Jesse, son of The Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood, in Ibiza in 2011 and they tied the knot in July 2014. Fearne, who is the voice over of the Tesco Mobile adverts, has two children with Jesse, including 11-year-old Rex.
Fearne said in a statement last week: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage. Our priority has been, and will always be, our children.”
The former CBBC presenter told Alan Carr in 2021 on his Life’s A Beach podcast: “Sexy time hasn’t happened for so long in terms of me going anywhere. I think for me and my husband, booking into the local Travelodge would make us feel sexy at the moment.”
