The top bucket list experiences across the globe have been revealed for 2025.
As 2024 comes to an end and holidaymakers look ahead to 2025, the world’s top bucket list experiences have been revealed by African safari company Go2Africa, which looked at Google search numbers for destinations over the past 12 months.
Crowned as the top bucket list destination in the whole world, the paradise island of Bali takes top stop. Bali has been loved as a holiday destination for decades, with many travellers opting for it as their holiday, honeymoon or friends trip. The location is loved for its friendly locals and stunning natural surroundings. This, along with its strong ties to spirituality, has led to the island being nicknamed the ‘Island of the Gods’ by locals.
In second place, is a wildlife safari showing people’s desire to explore nature. Whether it’s tracking a lion across the savannah or spotting a tiny elephant shrew, a safari lets travellers encounter rare creatures in their natural habitats. In addition, many safaris support local economies and contribute to conservation initiatives, making them both an exciting and responsible way to experience the wild.
“Wildlife safaris offer an opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and witness the untamed world up close. From observing breathtaking wildlife encounters that feel like scenes from a dream to the thrill of exploring unspoiled landscapes, safaris promise moments of awe and wonder that leave lasting impressions.
“They allow us to disconnect from the ordinary and connect deeply with the wild, inspiring a profound respect for the planet we share. It’s a bucket list item that I hope everyone gets to experience at least once in their lives,” said Lee-Anne Kock, product manager at Go2Africa.
Santorini in Greece came in as the third bucket list destination for many. With its whitewashed and blue-roofed buildings, Santorini is a beautiful island, known for its volcanic beaches, lunar landscapes and breathtaking views. Visitors can either lay by the beaches, duck into one of the many Greek restaurants on the cliffs or take a boat out into the sea.
One destination in England managed to slip into the top 15 — Stonehenge in Salisbury — which featured in 14th place. The prehistoric stone circle monument, cemetery and archaeological sight sites on Salisbury Plan, which is about eight miles north of Salisbury in Wiltshire.
