Impress your guests this Christmas with a simple yet beautiful hummus wreath which acts as a perfect appetiser – you just need four ingredients and a few minutes to prepare it
It’s that time of year when many of us put our hosting hats on – and what better way to impress your guests than with a delicious treat that will send them into taste haven.
Most of us will be enjoying classic Christmas treat this season, from turkey dinners and roast potatoes, to Christmas pudding, cheese and biscuits, Bailey’s and more. But before you sit down for your main feast, which can often take a long time to prepare, you might want to serve up some treats for guests to enjoy.
Dips are often a staple at parties – and the perfect accompaniment to veggie sticks, crisps, crackers or bread. But rather than just putting it into a boring bowl, a genius recipe whiz has come up with a fun and festive way to jazz up your hummus plate.
Recipe developer Kristel, who makes “simple snacks with a twist” and shares them on social media, says this year people should make her Christmas hummus wreath. Not only does it look oh-so pretty, it is easy to create.
Kristel, who lives in the Nice area of France, loves sharing food that people who love sharing and entertaining guests can whip up. The viral content creator, who boasts 569,000 followers on her Instagram page @kristels.kitchen, said: “Snack like Santa with this delicious hummus appetizer.
“I’m loving this Christmassy twist with tomato ornaments and a cucumber ribbon…tasty and festive.” Commenting on her video tutorial of how to prepare the treat, one individual said: “This is such a beautiful idea.”
“Wow, fantastic,” added another. One other wrote: “Wow! This is beautiful hummus. Looks so delicious.” “I am stealing this idea,” said one other Christmas fan.
To prepare the treat you will need approximately 500 grams of hummus, a small bunch of finely chopped parsley, some cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, and a cucumber.
Method
- Place a small bowl in the middle of your serving plate and evenly spread the hummus all around
-
Remove the small bowl and top the hummus with chopped parsley, cherry tomatoes and feta
-
Using a vegetable peeler, peel a few cucumber strips, form a Christmas ribbon as shown in the reel and place on top of the hummus.
-
Serve with crackers or toasted bread. Enjoy!
