Paris Fury was spied shaking her head in disappointment as the judges at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night ruled her husband had lost his rematch
Paris Fury shook her head in disappointment as husband Tyson spectacularly lost his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.
Sport fans were shocked back in May when 36-year-old Tyson lost a match against 37-year-old Oleksandr – who was then crowned the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. The achievement was won at the time by a split vote – meaning that Tyson only just lost out on securing the title for himself.
For the past three months, the boxing champ has locked himself away from 35-year-old Paris and their seven children; Venezuela, 15, Prince John James, 13, Prince Tyson II, eight, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis, five, Athena, three, and Prince Rico Paris, one. He shunned his family in the run up to the rematch – hoping that focusing on training would lead to an easy victory.
But on Saturday night, the British star was brutally slapped down by Ukrainian professional boxer Oleksandr – while wife Paris watched on in despair. The mum-of-seven could not hide her disappointment as the judges scored against her husband and handed his rival the victory for the second time.
Footage from the ringside has gone viral on X, showing Paris shaking her head in disapproval over the judges’ decision. The At Home With The Tysons star looked downcast as it was announced her husband had been thrashed on points as the judges scored the contest 116-112 in favour of Oleksandr.
The result has not landed well with Tyson either – who reportedly expressed his anger once off the ring. Speaking to Sky Sports Boxing after the fight, the star said: “I swear to God, I thought I won by three rounds!” And ESPN then reported him fuming: “I thought I won the fight again, I was Larry Holmesed again. I was on the front foot the entire time. When you don’t get the knockout this is what can happen.”
Before her husband took to the ring, Paris predicted he would win – a prophecy that failed to come to light. Speaking to TNT Sports on Saturday night ahead of the match, Paris said: “Yeah it is nice. It’ll be nice to see him win tonight.” Asked how she expects Tyson to perform in the ring, she said: “Hopefully with the mood he’s in very quickly and very brutally.”
And Tyson previously explained why he spent three months away from his family to focus on his training. He said: “It’s been a long camp, been away from my wife and kids for three months. I’ve not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. I’ve sacrificed a lot. It will be worth it, 100 per cent.”
And even earlier on Saturday, Paris shared her own thoughts on her husband’s extreme approach to preparing for the match. She told IFL TV Boxing: “After the last fight, everything that went on previously personally in our lives and then Tyson obviously had the outcome last time, I just think he decided this on his own and I had to support him in it.” She explained that Tyson “didn’t want to be involved in family life” and has put himself in a “serious, serious condition.”
