“I’m completely obsessed with this perfume! I now own all four of Sabrina’s fragrances. I was very taken aback the moment I sprayed me espresso on. The image I get is of a local cosy café.”
Sabrina Carpenter has released Sweet Tooth Me Espresso, the perfect accompaniment for her song Espresso, arguably the summer soundtrack for 2024. It’s the fourth fragrance to join the star’s Sweet Tooth perfume range and this time coffee is very much present.
It opens up with notes of cocoa, espresso and cappuccino, making it one of the most mature openings of the entire Sweet Tooth range. The heart is biscuit alongside vanilla orchid and jasmine while the base dives right back to being Short and Sweet with whipped cream, caramel and amber.
Coffee scents have grown in popularity this year, likely due to Sabrina’s song, with Coffee Break by Maison Martin Margiela and YSL’s Black Opium being some of the most popular. Since it’s such a new fragrance there aren’t any reviews on Superdrug, where you can exclusively get the perfume now, however fragrance aficionado site Fragrantica has managed to pull in reviews.

One said: “Upon initial spray, it smells like blueberry maple pancakes? I do pick up a slight coffee smell, but it smells more like the inside of a coffee shop rather than the coffee beans themselves. The jasmine, however, is the most prominent note that my nose picks up, with the biscuit note being second.
“Me Espresso lasts the longest on me out of all the other sweet tooths, and its sillage is pretty good. I still prefer the original sweet tooth, but I can definitely see this fragrance growing on me!”
A second wrote: “Not half as bad as some people would have you believe. The cookie note is quite malty to me. I don’t get much fruitiness at all. A perfectly pleasant cheapish uncomplicated fragrance.”
A third added: “I’m completely obsessed with this perfume! I now own all four of Sabrina’s fragrances. I wasn’t wowed by the last three she put out. Honestly, I disliked sweet tooth and caramel dream and felt like they smelled very similar. I liked Cherry Baby enough to wear her here and there. However, I was very taken aback the moment I sprayed me espresso on.
“I think the description of me espresso is spot on. I’ve seen some say it smells like grape soda? The image I get is of a local cosy café. The top notes hit strong, but not in an overwhelming way. When I first sprayed it, it filled the room with caffeine and the cocoa note was just behind that (four people complimented me the moment I sprayed it on).
“I’ve seen others say they only get the floral notes or just the jasmine and nothing else. I personally don’t think it’s as intense as they say, and that’s coming from someone who isn’t big on floral scents. In my opinion, the middle notes are subtle and blend so well together.”
Several shoppers insist it smells like grape soda, with one saying, “Grape soda and jasmine. It almost smells like Alien. Nothing even vaguely espresso/lactonic/biscuity (to me). Very weird.”
Our fragrance buff Jada Jones has tried the entire Sweet Tooth range and said: “This is my favourite Sweet Tooth, I think the first one was too sweet although you can’t be shocked considering the name. This is definitely a collection of scents that I think would suit a teenager or woman in her twenties – although my 61-year-old aunt loves Caramel Dream, so it really is down to personal preference. I don’t get any grape soda, instead it smells like a coffee shop where you’ve got a sugary drink. It’s nice if you like gourmand scents.”
