Instagram food influencer Lola Young decided to bake a cheesecake during her recent flight with Ryanair – but some people have branded her ‘inconsiderate’ and ‘desperate for likes’
Flying is often the quickest and most convenient mode of travel, but it’s not always the most comfortable. Being confined to a plane seat for hours can feel like an ordeal, making personal entertainment a must-have.
But what exactly is deemed acceptable behaviour on a flight?
Food influencer Lola Young from Italy decided to push the boundaries by preparing a cheesecake during her recent flight with Ryanair. In her video posted to her Instagram page, Lola is seen methodically unpacking ingredients from her bag as she sets about creating her no-bake dessert from her seat.
She begins with a small cake tin, which she fills with biscuit crumbs that she crushed up in a bag using the cake tin, softened butter, and a small jar of honey – all pre-measured at home for easier baking.
She then mixes everything together and presses it into the tin with a teaspoon to form the crust.
She then took out a package of cream cheese, which she mixed some sugar into before spooning it onto the crust. But she wasn’t done yet, as she then took out two pots of jam that she spread over the cream cheese filling.
Once everything is smoothed down, she tucks into her homemade treat with evident satisfaction. However, viewers were less than impressed with Lola’s in-flight antics, with many calling her inconsiderate to the other passengers and the staff.
One person penned: “No. I’m a flight attendant and it’s a big no. Seriously pull yourself together people.”
Another quipped: “Imagine being this desperate for likes.”
Yet, there was support for the influencer too, with one defender posting: “I don’t understand the criticism! Plane food sucks, at least you can eat a good cake,” and another chimed in: “Finally, someone I would actually enjoy sitting beside.”
Ryanair has been contacted for comment.
