Shocking video footage has captured a woman crawling beneath airport security gates at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, Serbia, before managing to board a flight with no ticket or passport
Incredible video footage has captured the moment a woman brazenly crawls under an airport security gate, before managing to board a flight without a ticket or passport.
The incident, which although amusing is a serious security breach, took place at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. According to local reports, the woman ended up boarding a Wizz Air flight to Malta after sneaking past security on January 8.
In the footage, she is seen getting down on her stomach and crawling military-style under the glass doors of an automated passport gate that had been installed just three weeks earlier. The automated passport gate was installed on December 20 in a formal ceremony which had been attended by country officials.
When the woman reaches the other side, she continues to crawl as she makes her way under multiple retractable security barriers. She managed to make it all the way to the aircraft without a passport or ticket before she was rumbled.
It was only when she entered the aircraft and was unable to show flight attendants her boarding pass that she was caught out. Security was swiftly alerted to the situation and the woman, who has not been named, was detained.
Police confirmed that the Serbian woman has been charged with trespassing as a result of her antics. It was also revealed she had arrived at the airport in the country’s capital on a previous flight from France, where she was deported for reasons that are currently unknown.
The relevant authorities, including the Civil Aviation Authority, have launched an investigation. AIrport representatives said: “Belgrade Airport is cooperating with the relevant authorites regarding this case, and while the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to provide any details.”
