A mum of triplets has opened up about the things people say when they stop her and her partner in the street, and there are a number of comments she says she hears ‘daily’
A mum of triplets have shared a video of all the things she gets told every time she takes her triplet babies out for a walk.
Shannon Page gave birth to her triplets at 29 weeks in October 2024. The three identical boys, Enzo, Cruz, and Aljo, have since taken the spotlight on Shannon and her husband Ace’s TikTok page as they document their lives with the babies, including their first 75 days when they had to stay in hospital.
In one video, Shannon shared the things she’s always told every time she leaves the house to go on a walk with the triplets. “These are the things that I hear daily whilst out walking with the triplets,” Shannon said at the start of her video.
Ace went on to act out the different scenario of passers by, by first saying: “Oh triplets – you’ve got your hands full” followed by a laugh. The video then cut to the next scenario, where he went on to say: “Oh triplets, can I have a look,” to which Shannon replied: “Oh yeah, but don’t get too close because they are new-born.”
Ace then went on to dramatically get as close to the babies as he could, emphasising how strangers often look down closely at each baby, before coughing right over the pram – something which could endanger the kids.
The next scenario showed a person asked if Shannon had gone through IVF to get her triplets, and after hearing the verification, replying with ‘thought so’ before walking away. “Three?” he then exclaimed in another scenario before continuing: “Cor that’s my worst nightmare.”
This was swiftly followed by: “God, you need a licence to drive that thing,” referring to the three-seat pram. “Three? Good luck,” came another comment, as well as people complaining it was too cold outside to bring their babies outside.
“Cor, I guess you don’t get much sleep,” was the final thing he said, before a disclaimer showed with the parents sharing it was all a joke and that they appreciate people stopping them to talk.
Shannon and Ace aren’t the only parents who have heard similar comments, as the comment section of the video quickly filled with parents sharing their own stories.
“I’m soon to have my 8th. Had twins who are now nearly 13. One of the best comments Iv had when out with all mine was ‘Are they all yours?’ Response no I found them by the park so thought I’d just take some, women looked like she was having heart failure,” one mum shared.
Another person said: “I got a lot of this with my twins. I know it’s curiosity but the IVF question is a step too far imo!” “I had Irish twins and I’d be a millionaire if everyone who asked me ‘Don’t you have a telly’ gave me £1,” a third person said.
