President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended three inaugural balls to celebrate his 2025 inauguration, and a lip reader has claimed to have discovered what they said to each other
Melania Trump whispered a heartfelt message to her husband, Donald Trump, during the Liberty Ball, according to a lip reader. The new US president, who was sworn in on Monday, attended three inaugural balls with his family to mark the momentous occasion.
Starting at the military-themed Commander in Chief ball, they moved on to the Liberty Ball where he shared an “awkward” dance with Melania. They wrapped up the evening at Union Station’s Starlight Ball.
Lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman has claimed that during their dance at the Liberty Ball, Melania told President Trump: “Today is one we will never forget,” to which the 78-year-old responded: “You’re right, I’ll learn, I’ll fight.”
Melania then expressed her support with the tender words: “I got you”. Trump reportedly answered: “We’ll see. Will you control it? Less tricky, less pushing away?” To this, the First Lady said: “It’s a no,” and Trump acknowledged, “I hear you.”
Earlier that night, President Trump and Melania made a grand entrance at the Commander-in-Chief ball, kicking off their inaugural festivities with their first dance before a large audience, reports the Irish Star.
However, Melania seemed uncomfortable during the brief dance with her husband, especially as she had to ‘support’ her husband’s ‘weight,’ body language expert Mark Bowden observed. “This shaky start leaves Trump leaning his full weight forward, while Melania manages to meet him cheek to cheek. With her wide-brimmed hat no longer serving as a barrier, the couple is closer than earlier in the day-though precariously close to the ear that once took a bullet,” he commented on the President’s posture.
Greg Matt Travis posted on X: “Trump and Melania’s Inaugural Ball first dance was something else-a stiff, awkward shuffle that looked more like a hostage situation than a celebration. The man who claimed he’d “Make America Great Again” couldn’t even make a slow dance look convincing.”
It wasn’t the only eye-opening moment from Inauguration Day. During the ceremony, Trump’s son Barron was spotted making a “classy gesture” towards outgoing president Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Jeremy also revealed exactly what he said during a short conversation.
