Liam Gallagher is preparing for the Live ’25 Tour, which will be the first time Oasis have played together since splitting in 2009 and see the band put on 41 shows
Liam Gallagher will be sober all summer to make sure the Oasis reunion gigs go off without a hitch, it is reported.
The rocker, 52, wants to give fans the best shows of his career and he is already working on getting fit, it is understood. He said on X the move will help him “get into the zone of zones”.
But there is understood to be one exception – Liam will allow himself a couple of cold ones while watching his beloved Manchester City play as Pep Guardiola’s side battle to retain European football this season.
A source told The Sun: “Liam’s just returned from a boozy holiday and now plans to be in lock-down for the foreseeable to focus on getting fit for the tour. He is planning on being sober ahead of and on tour with Oasis. He’s actually used cutting out booze to help him prepare and also to get through the shows before.”
Liam, born in Longsight, Manchester, previously admitted he stopped drinking on stage after his erratic performance with Oasis at Wembley in 2000. Liam will reportedly keep this year’s shows – the first with Oasis since 2009 – booze free. On X, the singer said: “That’s me done now. It’s time to get into the zone of zones.”
Live ’25 Tour will see the band perform 41 shows, starting on July 4 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. That gig will be followed by five nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park, which is only around six miles from City’s Etihad Stadium.
And then there will be eight performances at Wembley Stadium, where they last played in July 2009 as part of Oasis’ Dig Out Your Soul Tour. There are only two dates in Dublin, before the Gallaghers and company head to Toronto to begin the world leg of the tour, which is set to end in São Paulo in Brazil in late November.
Speaking last month, Liam hinted a new Oasis album may be in the works – if the lads can “nail the tour”. With each venue sold out, Liam suggested a lot rides on the comeback tour.
