Arsenal could do with adding a striker to their squad over the final few days of the January transfer window but the Gunners are running out of time to get deals done amid links with Mathys Tel and Darwin Nunez
Deadline day is getting perilously close for Arsenal – and Mikel Arteta’s side are still yet to make a signing.
The Gunners could potentially do with some additions to their squad to push them on over the next few months. And one position they desperately need to add a new face is striker.
Injury issues have blighted Arsenal’s attacking options and a number of strikers including Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres and Mathys Tel have all been linked. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal manage to get deals over the line.
And while incomings could dominate over the coming days, a few stars could be set for exits. Take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours:
Arsenal urged to make Nunez move
Ex-Liverpool star Didi Hamann believes Darwin Nunez would solve Arsenal’s striker conundrum. “I can’t see Arsenal winning anything without a centre-forward,” Hamann told BestOffshoreSportsbooks.
“You could maybe win a cup with a bit of luck and you can win the Champions League without being the best team, but in the Premier League you need to be the best and without a centre-forward, there are few teams in history to have won that way.
“You can look at Pep Guardiola ‘s teams who had the best wingers in the world or teams with the likes of Neymar or Lionel Messi, but Arsenal need a presence. Arsenal would be a transformed team with Darwin Nunez up front. Someone with that physical presence who can stretch teams and create space.”

Gunners enter Tel race
Another option for the Gunners over the coming weeks could be Bayern Munich frontman Mathys Tel. The Frenchman looks set to leave the Allianz Arena amid interest from the Premier League.
Chelsea have been strongly linked with him amid a potential swap involving Christopher Nkunku, while Manchester United are also interested. According to The Independent, Arsenal have since entered the race for his signature.
Tel is reportedly a long-term target of the North London side having been interested as far back as 2022 when Tel initially joined Bayern from French side Rennes. Arsenal would be interested in taking him on loan with an option to buy.
Inter eye Zinchenko
While a forward could be on the agenda, one man potentially set for an exit is Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Ukrainian utility man has found first-team football hard to come by this term.
As per InterLive, Italian side Inter Milan are interested in him. They are reportedly considering whether to make a move for him in the summer when he would have just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Zinchenko but have yet to make a swoop for his services.
