Harry Kane has been linked with a shock exit from German giants Bayern Munich with a release clause written into his contract, with Arsenal and Manchester United both potential contenders for his signature
Manchester United have been told to do “everything” to sign Harry Kane despite already ruling out a move.
The former Tottenham forward only joined Bayern Munich in 2023 and has gone on to continue his sensational goalscoring exploits. But he could potentially be on the way out sooner rather than later.
A release clause written into his contract has been revealed and it is thought that he could leave should a bid of around £67million be made. Arsenal are among the Premier League sides reportedly interested, with Man United now urged to make a move.
“If I was Manchester United, I’d be doing everything to sign Harry Kane because of this £67 million release clause,” ex-Liverpool star Markus Babbel said to Wette.de. “At Manchester United, it’s not acceptable what is currently going on at that club.
“This is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and for how many years now have they been struggling. It shouldn’t be possible. They spend so much money too. Every year they seem to be getting worse and still all while spending much more money than before!
“If I was Manchester United, I would be splashing out on signing Harry Kane because he is a quality player and he will score goals, and if you have a striker up front scoring goals then your chances of winning games are much bigger. If I was Manchester United, I’d do everything possible to sign him.”
And while United have been told to sign the forward, it appears that won’t be happening any time soon. According to reports, a move will not be pursued due to his age and potential wage demands.
Babbel is not the only one to have told United to make a big-money move for Kane. Former Red Devils striker Louis Saha was also keen to see them attempt to sign the forward prior to his release clause being revealed and a deal being significantly more expensive.

“It’s hard to find players who can do what Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland can do, United need to find players that can really hurt the opposition and are proven in doing so and that’s a big task,” Saha told BoyleSports.
“United have spent a lot of money and I don’t think Gyokeres is the answer, if you can spend £120 million on Harry Kane then they should do it tomorrow, there are very few guarantees in football but that’s what a club like United needs.”
Kane finally looks set to end his long wait for silverware this term. Bayern Munich currently sit eight points clear of the top of the Bundesliga, with the forward having scored 21 goals in just 19 league appearances.
