Former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has opened up about ageing and has admitted that she has made a “decision” regarding cosmetic surgery in the future.
TV star Holly Willoughby has candidly discussed the realities of ageing, even revealing that she’s made a “decision” about cosmetic surgery.
The former This Morning host said she has noticed changes in her complexion, as she shared in her memoir, Reflections: “I’m in my forties now and I can see the changes in my face.”
Holly noted: “I know that my skin needs a lot more love, particularly hydration. If I have a late night or if I’ve been out drinking, I definitely notice it. My face will just eat my make-up – it doesn’t sit as well on my skin.”
To combat signs of ageing, the 44-year-old schedules monthly facials to help “cells to produce collagen”.
When asked about potential future cosmetic surgery, the popular presenter confessed that “I probably will indulge in a few”. She explained: “I’m reserving the right to decide how I feel about all that when I get there. What I do know for sure is that I want any decision to come from a positive place where I enjoy getting a little boost, and not a negative place where I think I need to be ‘fixed’ outwardly in some way.”
Holly, who first graced our screens in the early 2000s with various children’s TV roles across the BBC, has had an impressive broadcasting career.
However, Holly’s success as a children’s presenter quickly catapulted her to household name status when she joined Phillip Schofield to co-host Dancing On Ice in 2006. Following several other presenting gigs, she teamed up with Schofield again in 2009 to co-host ITV’s This Morning.
Now, in one of her first television roles since leaving This Morning in October 2023, Holly has been spotted hosting one of Netflix’s latest shows, Celebrity Bear Hunt. The show follows Bear Grylls on his quest to locate celebrities in the Costa Rican jungle.
Speaking on the Graham Norton show about appearing in the new series, Holly said: “It is so nice to be doing something new and exciting and being on a proper adventure.”
She also spoke of the challenges of working with the adventure obsessed Bear during the new Netflix show: “Working with Bear Grylls has taken me totally out of my comfort zone.”
She added: “The magic of Bear is that he is really convincing and inspirational and even got me to do stuff and I am the scaredest person ever.”
