Lottie Tomlinson welcomed her son Lucky with her fiancée Lewis Burton over two years ago and she’s since shared she felt ‘insecure’ amid the pregnancy in part due to facial fillers
Lottie Tomlinson has opened up about her decision to have filler in her lips and cheeks dissolved.
Lottie, now 26, previously revealed that she had made the decision following the birth of her son Lucky, now two. She has since said that she felt “insecure” during the pregnancy due to the “combination” of weight gain and facial fillers.
She reflected on the decision in her memoir Lucky Girl, which was first published last year. Lottie shared that her fiancée Lewis Burton, 32 – with whom she also shares one-month-old daughter Flossie – made her “feel special” whilst she was pregnant with Lucky as she dealt with insecurities.
The content creator said that she was “still so tied up” in her “physical appearance” at that time and that she thought it was “everything”. She then recalled her bump becoming “huge” and her face having “blown up” towards the end of the pregnancy, before revealing that it contributed to her decision to later have her fillers dissolved.
She wrote in the memoir: “The massive weight gain in combination with all the fillers I’d had before getting pregnant made me feel really insecure. The fillers in my lips and cheeks made me look silly as my face blew up and it was then that I realised the beauty treatments had got a bit out of control. After having Lucky I got rid of them all.”
Lottie said that her decision coincided with a “movement” on social media “supporting a more natural look”, which she said “helped” her “take the plunge”. She added that the pregnancy had led her on a “journey of self-acceptance” and remembered thinking of her son experiencing the same feelings in the future, with her sharing that she was “upset” over the prospect.
She continued by saying that it resulted in her “questioning” why she had “these feelings in the first place”. Lottie suggested that “so much of it” was due to her career and social media, but said that she could, for the first time, “see beyond that” after becoming a parent.
She said she felt there was “something so much more important” due to her body having “created life”. Lottie said that although she had a “hard time” with her body “developing,” she then also had an “appreciation for it”.
Prior to releasing her memoir, Lottie had posted about having her fillers dissolved back in 2022. As previously reported, she wrote at the time: “Thank you @harley_st_injectables for giving me my natural face back. After years of having filler I decided to dissolve it all and embrace the natural me. One of the best decisions I’ve made.”
