1. Xbox Controller Stand
Shop here for £19.99
A multi-use stand is an easy and relatively affordable way to enhance your Xbox games and accessories collection. While there are many options, this one costs £20 and features the iconic Xbox colours and logo. It also features a disc rack for those who are enjoying the Xbox Series X’s backwards compatibility or who just can’t let go of their Xbox 360 and Xbox One game collections.
This stand also features controller holders with up to four slots, perfect for those who tend to have company as they battle through Fortnite. And, for the multiplayer fans out there, this stand also features a convenient place to store your headset to keep all of your Xbox must-haves in one, neatly organized place.
For those who prefer PlayStation consoles and peripherals, a similar games locker with Sony’s synonymous colour scheme with this Numskull PS5 Light Gaming Locker for £39.99 from Argos.
2. Xbox Battery-Pack Charger
Shop here for £25.49
Like the option above, this pick is for avid gamers who don’t want to keep stocking up on fairly expensive AA batteries or who want enough batteries packed and charged in time for the next game night.
Not only does this option come with snazzy LED lights that add a dash of colour to your gaming set up, it comes with four rechargeable battery packs compatible with the Xbox Series One and X|S Series controllers. The four battery packs can seamlessly fit on this charging stand to ensure you always have a spare to swap to when the dreaded ‘low battery’ message appears mid-game or ensure all four controllers are charged and ready for your next group campaign.
For PS5 gamers, you can pick up a charging dock for two PlayStation controllers from Currys for £12.99 here.
3. Xbox Fan Cooler
Shop here for £29.24
This one is specifically for gamers like me with an Xbox Series X. One change in the design that is loved and hated by Xbox fans was the change of location when it came to the fan system. While I appreciated it being moved from the side (ensuring a clear airflow even if you’re short on space) BUT, with that being said, the new fan’s location at the top introduces a new issue. While dust is an issue no matter where you store your console, if you position your Series X upright, there’s a higher chance of dust falling into the fans, causing performance issues and lowering the lifespan of your machine due to internal overheating.
This piece of equipment doubles as a cooling fan system and a dust protector, reducing the amount of access debris getting inside your machine while also working to keep your core temperatures at a safer temperature that won’t lead to your hardware overheating and getting worn down. This means you can game for longer, knowing the machine won’t need a breather halfway through a long session, and there’s no need to dismantle the console to remove the dust and debris regularly.
You can also pick up a Cooling Fan for your PS5 for £27.99 here.
4. Xbox Headset
Shop here for £44.01
This is a fairly explanatory option: every gamer who enjoys playing online or with friends needs a decent headset. Now, regular readers of my Prime Finds series may be shocked that I didn’t include the Turtle Beach headset that’s made several appearances in my other articles—though this is a top, affordable choice.
This headset is directly Xbox compatible and ditches a colourful design for an understated, sleek, all-black aesthetic. It’s wired and works alongside Xbox One and up. Plus, there’s no reason why this headset needs to be used exclusively for gaming sessions. I’ve found gaming headsets make great picks for work headphones as they have a clearer mic and crisp sound quality, making them perfect for jobs with frequent Zoom calls. These headphones are compatible with Windows PCs as well as controllers.
If you want a PlayStation 5 PULSE Elite wireless headset for your PS5 setup, you can shop for a midnight black set from Very here.
5. Xbox Charging Stand and Fan
Shop here for £52.99
What’s better than the accessories listed above? All of them are in one single station. Excluding the headphones, which sadly don’t come with this set, you can add a cooling fan/dust protector, controller charging stand, and storage for your frequently-used discs and headset, all in one tidy purchase. Decorated with colour-changing LEDs, this stand is perfect for keeping everything you use on a regular basis neat and organised in one cool-looking piece of equipment that also promises to keep your console cool and dust-free. Coming with a slightly higher price tag, this gem is more affordable than buying these peripheries separately.
Die-hard Sony fans can buy a best-selling PS5 / PS5 Slim Stand and Cooling Station with LED Controller Charging Station for £38.99 here.
