After more than a decade of feuding, Noel and Liam Gallagher have finally met in public ahead of their highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour
Noel and Liam Gallagher have finally met face-to-face in public for the first time in over ten years ahead of their long-awaited reunion tour.
The pair were reportedly seen together at a London hotel on Tuesday, with Liam bringing his sons Lennon, 25, and Gene, 23, along for the sit-down. Both sons are enthusiastic about the Oasis comeback and have been instrumental in encouraging their fathers to bury the hatchet.
The two arrived separately at the Nobu Hotel in Portman Square, close to Hyde Park, before meeting in a private room. Sources have revealed that the atmosphere between the brothers is noticeably warmer now, with the two eager to hit the road once again. Lennon and Gene have been credited with helping to bridge the gap between the Gallaghers, acting as peacemakers in their rocky relationship.
The meeting lasted for about an hour, and Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs was also present, guitar in hand. A few security personnel were spotted around the venue as well. Once the meeting concluded, the brothers left the hotel separately.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: “Their relationship is far warmer now and they’re excited to get out on the road. Gene and Lennon were both big champions of Oasis getting back together and have been seen as the peacemaker. Noel arrived at Nobu before Liam and his boys joined him in a private room.”
“Bonehead [Oasis guitarist Paul Arthurs] was there with his guitar too and there were a few drivers and a guard knocking around. They talked for about an hour before leaving separately,” the insider added.
Oasis shocked fans in August when they confirmed their reunion, marking their first live performance together since their split in 2009. Their highly anticipated comeback tour will kick off in Cardiff on July 4, with a staggering 17 UK shows scheduled. The tour is already breaking records, with over 10 million people from 158 countries vying for tickets.
Lennon and Gene, who are close friends with Noel’s daughter Anais, have openly joked about intervening to get their dads to reconcile, but have said they knew their fathers were too clever for that. Just before the reunion was announced, Lennon hinted at the idea, suggesting his father might be secretly keen on it, especially after a few drinks.
In addition to their UK shows, Oasis will be taking their comeback to North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, making it one of the most eagerly awaited tours in music history.
