Kim Kardashian revealed what will happen to the engagement ring her ex-husband Kanye West gave her.
The reality star, 44, and rapper Ye, 47, were married between 2014 and 2022 and welcomed four children together – North, 11, Saint, nine, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, five. When the All Of The Lights rapper proposed in late 2013, he gifted her a cushion-cut 15-carat diamond ring.
When North was still a baby, she even held the expensive ring making it even more special to Kim. And now, the star plans to gift the ring to her eldest daughter. Kanye gave her the first engagement ring when he proposed to her and another in 2016 – a 20-carat $8million ring.
A few months after he gave her the second ring, it was stolen at gunpoint in Paris during a terrifying robbery. She left the first ring at home as it was ‘most important’ to her. She was also told by her husband at the time not to wear both rings at the same time, which she thankfully listened to.
His advice to her came after he spotted her wearing both rings in a video shared on social media. At the time, she rocked the jewellery as she went to Madison Square Garden with her sister, Khloe Kardashian. During a recent episode of the family’s reality show, Kim said to Khloe: “Because when I was with you at Madison Square Garden, you told me to wear both, I wore both, and we went like this is an IG video.
“Kanye saw it and went, ‘Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?’ And so that one I’m going to give Northie because she was with me when I got engaged, And she held it after and I took a photo. She was just a few months old.”
It comes after Kim revealed she had to return her engagement ring to ex Kris Humphries following their divorce. In an episode of The Kardashians, the reality star shared that surrendering the 18-carat emerald-cut diamond ring was part of her 2013 divorce settlement.
However, Kim maintained that she paid for most of the ring, with Kris only contributing a fifth of the cost. After getting the ring back, Kris later auctioned it off for £578,000, with his representative confirming it was legally his property following the dissolution of their marriage.
