The Duchess of Sussex’s show, With Love, Meghan, was panned by critics after it debuted on Netflix earlier this month but it has still been given a second series
Prince Harry will not feature at all in the second series of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show – or her new podcast, it is reported.
Although With Love, Meghan, a hostessing and homemaking programme, has had savage reviews across the board, it has still been given a new series. Scenes for it were shot at the same time as those for the first season so Netflix was under pressure to use these, it is thought.
Harry, 40, barely appeared in the first series and he won’t be in the second one altogether, according to an insider. There will also be no glimpse of their children; Archie, five, and three-year-old Lilibet. A source said: “He’s (Prince Harry) not in it. It’s her and more friends. More of the same.”
The first season saw the Duchess of Sussex offer hosting tips and featured chats with close friends. An industry professional slated the show and called the decision to renew it “absurd” in a scathing tirade.
But determined Meghan, 43, is continuing with the second block, and is also reviving her podcasting career with a new series, Confessions of a Female Founder. Again, her husband won’t be in this, it is understood.
It was reported last year Harry and Meghan had hit a professional crossroads. They had been attending events without one another and this pattern has continued in 2025 with Meghan only attending some of the Invictus Games in Canada, leaving Harry to ride solo for the final stint.
And Harry was only seen for a few minutes at the end of the last episode of series one of With Love, Meghan. The duke’s appearance marked Meghan’s celebration brunch to honour the launch of her new lifestyle business, now called As Ever.
Appearing sheepish in front of the camera, the prince said exactly 14 words, mumbling: “Well done, you did a really great job, and I love it.” Then, raising a glass, he added: “To you.”
Writing for Mail Online, royal commentator Alison Boshoff said: “So, as Meghan moves to carve out her place in the spotlight, it is hard to avoid the conclusion that Harry has become the ‘spare’ – as he might put it – at least in his wife’s working life… While she embarks on a new media blitz, appearing on chat shows and red carpets, Harry has instead seemingly retreated into domestic obscurity.
“Persistent reports that there is marital trouble in their Montecito paradise are described by sources close to the couple as ‘exaggerated’. They say With Love, Meghan was always a ‘personal project’ of the duchess, and that she and Harry ‘fully support’ each other’s work while also pursuing their own passions.”
