Fire TV Stick users in the UK are finally seeing a Sky-style telly upgrade that is long overdue.
Fans of Fire TV Sticks are finally getting access to a much-wanted update that makes these popular devices feel a little more like a streaming set-top devices from the likes of Sky and Virgin Media. The boost is all thanks to the BBC finally appearing on the Fire TV’s ‘Live’ tab. That means with one simple tap, you can see exactly what is on now, next, and throughout the day. It’s even possible to click on a live programme to start watching rather than launching endless apps.
Amazon’s ‘Live’ tab isn’t new; this option first arrived on Fire TV devices in 2021. However, until now, only ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5 listings have been available. It’s been a much-talked-about missing feature, with forums full of people asking when the BBC would join the ‘Live’ tab.
Luckily, that update is finally here, with owners seeing content from all the popular BBC platforms, including BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Four, BBC Three, BBC CBBC, BBC CBeebies and BBC News.
The news appears to have gone down well with one Fire TV Stick fan saying, “As of yesterday I see BBC channels are now there, too.”

Of course, you will need a TV licence to tune into BBC content. If you already pay, you’ll find the new access under the ‘Live’ tab on your home screen.
Once clicked you’ll see the BBC channels. You’ll then just need to sign into your iPlayer account to start watching.
This feature also includes a handy Sky-style channel guide which shows what’s on across all content providers.

You shouldn’t need to update your device to see the BBC services, as the upgrade happens automatically.
