Controversial rapper Kanye West’s Malibu mansion is back on the market just months after he took a huge financial loss on the property, which he originally purchased for an eye-watering $57 million
Rapper Kanye West’s mansion is back on the market, being sold again just months after suffering a significant setback.
In 2021, the musician Kanye West, 47, bought a unique concrete mansion in Malibu, California, for $57.25 million. Designed by famous architect Tadao Ando, Kanye planned to turn the home into an open-air retreat. However, despite his big plans for the property, he later sold it at a loss.
The 4,700-square-foot beachfront house is now up for sale just six months after it was sold for $21 million earlier last year. This time, realtor power couple Amanda Lynn and Dylan Eckardt, known for their roles on “Selling Sunset” and “Selling the Hamptons,” are listing it for $30 million.
Eckardt, who has worked with West on multiple real estate deals, handled the original purchase and is now focused on finding the right buyer. “This is one of the bigger listings for me and Amanda together,” he revealed. Adding: “I’m gonna sell it this time to a great collector who wants to finish a masterpiece.”
The Malibu property is just one of many high-profile estates in West’s diverse real estate portfolio. After selling the property, In October 2024, the dad-of-four purchased a luxurious mansion in Beverly Hills for $35 million. Located in the exclusive North Beverly Park community, the 20,000-square-foot property boasts 11 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms. Amenities include multiple pools, an entertainment pavilion, and expansive outdoor spaces.
Meanwhile, his sprawling 4,500-acre ranch in Wyoming, once the headquarters for the Yeezy fashion line, was sold for $14 million last year.
It comes after the rapper made headlines recently for his “erratic behaviour” and social media slurs.
Kanye, also known as Ye, is married to Australian architect Bianca Censori and was previously wed to reality TV star Kim Kardashian. They have four children together: North, 11; Saint, nine; Chicago, seven; and Psalm, five.
Recent reports have fuelled speculation that Kanye and Bianca have unfollowed each other on Instagram, following the star’s recent behaviour.
Meanwhile, Kanye’s social media presence has been marked by a series of controversial posts. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, he has made disturbing comments about people following the Jewish faith and shared shocking claims about his former in-laws, The Kardashians.
More recently, he made derogatory remarks about Beyoncé’s children, questioning their mental abilities and commenting on their conception. This sparked public condemnation from Beyoncé’s family.
These actions have raised concerns among his family members. His ex-wife Kim has expressed worry about their children’s safety, citing Kanye’s declining mental health and erratic behaviour. She is reportedly considering legal action to protect their children, according to recent news.
“Kim wants to underline the point that she has never not allowed Kanye to have the kids and to be their father,” a source told The Sun.
“No one is preventing him – he’s the one who chooses to live in Tokyo much of the time. She would love nothing more than to see him take an active interest in parenting all four kids.”
