Former Big Brother icon Chantelle Houghton has revealed the simple method she used to achieve her stunning five stone weight loss that did not include the gym
Beloved Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton has finally shared the secret behind her incredible five stone weight loss. In a recent interview, the TV star who shares a 12 year old daughter with Katie Price’s ex-husband Alex Reid, confessed she cut sugar out from her diet.
The 41 year old mum of one, also claimed that she did not use the help of a gym or personal trainer to achieve her goal during her weight-loss journey.
Speaking to The Sun, she admitted: “I genuinely didn’t exercise, I didn’t go to the gym, I didn’t do anything apart from cut sugar out, and the weight just started to drop off of me. You know, I don’t miss it – I didn’t have any cravings or anything like that.”
Chantelle became a household name after appearing on reality TV show Big Brother in 2006. And it was her bubbly yet innocent personality that propelled her to the stratospheric heights of fame, not to mention her relationship with fellow housemate Preston.

Since then she went on to carve a career out for herself in the spotlight. Sporting a svelte figure, the former reality TV star went on to add: “And it just sort of spurred me on to start looking after myself a lot more when I saw the difference.” Not only has she cut foods that contain a high sugar content but she has also given up on drinking alcohol for the same reason.
Similar to her contemporaries within the reality TV industry, Chantelle underwent cosmetic surgery but has now vowed to steer clear of going under the knife again. The last time she changed her appearance with surgery was in 2016.
She went on to explain to the publication: “When I had my breast implants removed completely, I knew that was my very last cosmetic surgery. I made a promise to myself I’d only go under the knife again for medical reasons.” Since her public split from ex-fiance Michael Strutt, in 2021 Chantelle decided to focus on herself after gaining weight, which saw her reach 13 stone.
Despite looking her best, she has recently claimed that “only old men” are interested in dating her, which has left her seemingly despondent. In an interview with New magazine, she openly spoke about her dating life. She admitted: “I’m open to meeting somebody. I’m not closed off from it, but I certainly haven’t met anyone that I’d want to progress things with.”
“I don’t date, I’m not on any dating apps. If it’s going to happen, it will happen naturally,” she said, “But I’ve spent so much time on my own that I’m alright.” She added: “I don’t need someone to feel whole. I’m not trying to find my happiness in somebody else. I am happy on my own. If I meet someone, they’re just going to add to that happiness. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a few offers, but I’ve politely declined. Most of them are really old as well.”
