Saturday may be your last chance
Many high street supermarkets will be operating reduced hours or closed entirely over the long weekend. Shoppers are advised to check their local store’s specific opening times before heading out this weekend.
Aldi
The majority of Aldi stores will be shut on Easter Sunday but will remain open until 10pm on Saturday. The stores will also reopen bright and early at 8am on Monday.
Asda
Asda stores will stay open until 10pm on Saturday, April 19, allowing customers to stock up before they close on Easter Sunday. These stores will reopen on Easter Monday at 8am, however standalone petrol forecourts, Express stores and Scotland stores will continue to operate as normal throughout the weekend.
Co-op
If Co-op is your preferred supermarket, you’re in luck as all convenience stores are expected to remain open throughout the entire weekend. However, larger Co-op supermarkets outside of Scotland will be closed on Sunday.
Lidl
Lidl will maintain normal opening hours on Saturday and will be closed on Sunday. Opening times on Monday will vary between regions, so customers are advised to check their local store’s timings.
Marks & Spencer
Most M&S stores will be closed on Sunday but will maintain their usual operating hours from 8am to 8pm across the rest of the long weekend. Customers are also advised to check their local store hours online before heading out.
Sainsbury’s
All Sainsbury’s supermarkets, except those in Scotland, will be closed on Sunday. Most will also have modified trading hours on Monday, opening at 8am, but Saturday hours should remain the same as usual.
Tesco
Large Tesco stores across England and Wales will close at 10pm on Saturday and reopen at 8am on Monday. Express stores and stores in Scotland and Northern Ireland should maintain their usual hours throughout the week except for Monday when Scottish stores will open from 8am to 10pm and Northern Ireland stores from 10am to 8pm.
Waitrose
Waitrose will operate normal trading hours on Saturday, but all but a few Little Waitrose shops will be closed on Sunday. The majority of stores will reopen at 8am on Monday and return to normal trading hours.
