Mirror Money has rounded up the Easter bank holiday Monday opening times for the major UK supermarkets including Aldi, Tesco, and Asda – so you can know exactly when your local store will be open
Easter Monday is the second bank holiday of Easter – and it does affect the times supermarkets open. There are two bank holidays this weekend and they are Good Friday, which falls on April 18, and Easter Monday, which is April 21.
In the UK, Easter Sunday is classed as a public holiday – like Christmas Day – and under trading rules larger shops that are over 280 sq meters need to close on this day. Over the weekend, this was the case for the majority if major of UK supermarket chains.
With shops reopening today, many Brits will be venturing out to pick up the odd bits they may have run out of over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Others may want to pop to their local to check for any discounts on Easter treats such as chocolate eggs and hot cross buns.
Mirror Money has rounded up the bank holiday Monday opening times for the major UK supermarkets including Aldi, Tesco, and Asda. Keep in mind the below is just a rough guide – opening times vary across the country, so check your local store online first before making the trip to avoid disappointment.
