Kanye West is planning to sue his dentist for medical malpractice and negligence after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on laughing gas, the rapper’s team has confirmed
Kanye West is planning to sue his dentist for medical malpractice and negligence. The singer’s team has confirmed they are suing Dr Thomas Connelly – know as the father of Diamond Dentistry – after making a string of allegations.
Kanye’s team has given notice to Dr Connelly of their intention to sue him for medical malpractice, gross negligence, fraud, exploitation, abandonment, psychological and emotional trauma, reckless administration of controlled and uncontrolled substances as well as “other malicious and deceitful behaviours”. In a letter from Kanye and wife Bianca Censori’s lawyers, released to the media today, Ye claims he suffered serious injuries and damages as a result of the services he received in 2024 and 2025.
The letter claims that Kanye became a patient back in 2024 for cosmetic dental care. A number of procedures were allegedly carried out including specialised prosthodontic work. It states: “Evidence shows that during the time Ye was under your care, you engaged in numerous inappropriate and dangerous practices that were far outside the bounds of any legitimate medical purpose or standard of care. These actions were not isolated incidents, but rather part of a pattern of improper conduct by you from 2024 through 2025 while Ye was your patient. Ms. Censori, as Ye’s spouse, was a witness to and impacted by many of these events.”
In the letter a number of allegations were made, including the improper and excessive use of nitrous oxide for non-medical purposes, where it was claimed Dr Connelly supplied him with “frequencies that had no legitimate dental or medical justification”.
The lawyers then said: “You instructed Ye on how to self-administer nitrous oxide and allowed him to do so without any medical supervision or safeguards in place. Instead of administering sedation only under direct medical oversight (as required for patient safety), you left Ye to inhale nitrous oxide on his own, providing him the means (tanks, masks, etc.) and instructions to do so at will.”
In the letter, it is claimed Ye “began exhibiting distressing neurological symptoms and erratic behaviour consistent with nitrous oxide overuse and toxicity” and said symptoms included “confusion, memory lapses, incoherence, unpredictable changes in mood, impaired motor function and other cognitive and behavioural impairments”.
It was also claimed by Ye’s team that he had spent “reportedly on the order of $50,000 per month and cumulatively reaching into the hundreds of thousands of dollars”. The lengthy documents continued to state there had been financial exploitation of the patient through fraudulent billing and overcharging and Dr Connelly has been accused of professional abandonment.
Ye claims he experienced neurological and physical injury, psychological and emotional trauma, and financial harm amongst others. Bianca Censori has a legal claim for loss of consortium and related damages, according to the lawyers.
The Mirror has contacted Dr Connelly’s team for comment.
