Lindt extends Dubai chocolate range and fans spot way to get £24 set for £9

The TikTok favourite is back in stock and a new deal gives shoppers the chance to try everything for less including a ‘heavenly’ new addition to the range

The Dubai chocolate trend sees no sign of easing, with Lindt launching a brand new box of pistachio pralines perfect for sharing as well as restocking their best-selling bar. But while the confectioner’s ever-expanding range inspired by the TikTok treat now costs £24 full price, savvy shoppers have spotted a way to taste test it all for less than £9.

Dubai chocolate has become a viral sensation over the last few months with UK retailers limiting how many shoppers can buy at a time after fans raced to track down the bars, which have notched up more than 120 million views on social media. Packed with pistachio cream and crispy kadayif, Lindt’s version was one of the earliest to hit UK shores, but for fans who’ve missed the limited drops in shops, Lindt has bought back its bestselling online version – alongside a new addition.

Lindt’s £10 version of the bars has sold out twice before already in store and online even with the retailer imposing a strict two bars per person limit. It’s back now, but eagle-eyed fans have also spotted Dubai chocolate pralines making an appearance, with the £14 box of treats proving a hit, with shoppers describing them as ‘heavenly’ and ‘wickedly delicious.’

Money saving site TopCashback allows shoppers to get a free £15 bonus when they sign up as new members and then allows them to get a percentage of their spend back every time they spend money online with thousands of different retailers. For shoppers at Lindt’s online store this means if they bought both the 145g £10 bar and then a 90g box of the new pralines they would effectively get them for £8.79 after cashback, saving 37% on the usual price.

Chocoholics on social media praise Dubai chocolate for its mix of gooey pistachio cream with crunchy knafeh, also known as kadayif – or finely shredded filo pastry – which pairs with the chocolate to make the ultimate crunchy yet creamy taste.

The hype around the foodie sensation has sparked huge queues in supermarkets as shoppers try to snag versions from M&S, Waitrose, Ocado, Lidl, QD and Sainsburys. Meanwhile, Krispy Kreme has launched a pistachio cream filled doughnut inspired by the craze to tempt shoppers to branch out and Londoners can try a £19 whopping 11-inch high Dubai chocolate milkshake at branches of Black Tap Craft Burgers from next week which includes kunafa, pistachio and even an entire slice of chocolate mousse cake.

Keen home cooks are even snapping up boxes of crispy kadayif, chocolate moulds and pistachio cream to make their own versions but, if that feels a bit much like hard work, Amazon is also selling non-branded versions of the sweet treat. The current most popular option Velafee’s 200g bar, which has been bought more than 1,000 this month already, is currently £14.98 a bar and has an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars based on 154 reviews. Another top seller is Brics Signature Dubai Chocolate bar, which is £9.99 for 200g although it’s slightly less popular with shoppers, garnering 3.2 stars out for 5 from 189 reviews.

On the Lindt website, in comparison, hundreds of shoppers have praised the two Dubai inspired items in the chocolatier’s range, with the bars getting an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars from 276 reviews, while the box of pralines has a rating of 4.2 from 29 reviews.

One happy customer who snagged a box of the pralines described them as ‘wickedly delicious,’ adding: “These are simply heavenly. They are the perfect treat for anyone who loves pistachio cream. I only discovered them when browsing through the Lindt website. I live in the sticks and rarely get into town for shopping, so I had not seen them before. Now I know I can buy them – plus so many other less common Lindt products – online, they will become a regular treat, for us and as gifts for others.”

Another shopper, who had tried both products, said: “I am not a chocolate fan, but I tried that type of Dubai style chocolate and I think it is good. This is definitely more Dubai style than the bar, for people who like more of that flavour this is the perfect choice.”

One shopper who bought the bar said it could possibly be ‘the best chocolate ever,’ adding: “I expected this chocolate to be good, but oh boy this stuff is ridiculous. I only recommend buying this if you have Olympic levels of self control. Fabulous chocolate with a crunchy middle layer and gorgeous pistachios. A revelation.”

However, some shoppers have flagged that the bar in particular is noticeably thinner than traditional Dubai chocolate, which is renowned for being packed with filling. A one star reviewer explained: “The pistachio and kadayif quantity is very low. I am from Dubai and Dubai viral chocolate is in the limelight because of the taste of the kunefa but here the quantity is too low. Make it thick.”

How to get Lindt’s entire Dubai chocolate range for less than £9

  • Sign up as a new member via the TopCashback website to claim the £15 bonus.
  • Search for Lindt and click ‘Get Cashback Now’.
  • Shop and check out as usual.
  • Cashback will then track and appear in shoppers’ TopCashback accounts within seven working days of purchase. The cashback will become payable and available to withdraw and spend after Lindt has paid TopCashback the commission for the purchase.
