Whether you love or hate them, avocados are a popular fruit, and according to food experts, there’s a way to make them taste so much better.

It’s lunch time and you’ve got a busy day ahead. At the end of the month, there are only a few groceries in the fridge and some bread. Don’t worry, with some creativity, you can make the perfect lunch or afternoon snack with an avocado and some balsamic vinegar.

Avocados provide healthy fats and contain essential nutrients that are needed for our bodies. There’s also so many things that can be made out of them, such as guacamole, smoothies, or as an accompaniment to delicious toasts and salads.

As reported by Healthline, avocados are packed with nutrients like fibre and minerals, as well as other vitamins, including: Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, and B vitamins. They’re also good for your heart health and can be used as a much healthier alternative to other high-saturated-fat foods.

By adding balsamic vinegar, it acts as an antioxidant, also adding a distinctive-sour flavour. The creamy avocado goes well with the tanginess of the balsamic vinegar. For extra taste, you can even add some salt or chilli flakes.

Avocado with balsamic vinegar dressing

As shared by Sous Chef, making a delicious dish with avocado and balsamic vinegar is super quick and easy, and it doesn’t require a lot of ingredients, but what’s on the title. It only takes a few minutes to make, so don’t worry about it taking too much of your time.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 ½ to 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper
  • Extra: slice of bread, paprika, chilli flakes. Up to you!

Firstly, you will have to select a ripe avocado and slice it in half, and then in quarters. Then drizzle some balsamic vinegar over the avocado slices.

Then, sprinkle some sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste. If you’re feeling a bit extra, you can add some cherry tomatoes and fresh basil to add some extra flavour.

Last but not least, and the best part of the recipe, serve and enjoy. The recipe is perfect, with an explosion of flavours. You can also experiment by adding other ingredients such as feta cheese, fried eggs or nuts.

By adding balsamic vinegar to your avocado, you can elevate the flavour of your simple snack and turn it into a mouth-watering one! Balsamic vinegar is also available in any UK supermarket or local store.
