NOW Broadband is hiking prices from this July. The price of your monthly broadband bill will rise by £3 a month – so a £36 yearly increase.

This will impact customers from July 4. If you’re on an offer plan, you’ll pay your discounted price until the offer end date – after this, your bill will rise by £3 a month.

If you have NOW Broadband Basics social tariff, which is available to people claiming certain benefits, you’ll continue to pay the same price.

If you’re not happy with the price rise, you can cancel your package penalty-free within 31 days of receiving the price increase notification by calling NOW Broadband on 0330 041 2498. NOW customers should have received an email about the changes.

NOW said in a statement on its website: “At NOW, we’re all about bringing you great value and reliable broadband so you can stay connected to everything you love.

“That’s why we’ve invested in growing our broadband network capacity by 24% since 2022, reducing congestion so you can get faster speeds, even at peak times.

“We understand that things are tough right now, and so alongside investing in improvements, we’re committed to keeping prices as low as we can. The costs of providing services have, however, increased significantly, and it’s affecting the entire industry.“Many other providers have raised their prices, and we’ve made some changes too. The prices of our broadband membership plans have gone up by £3. You’ll see the price change reflected in your bill on or after 4 July 2025.”

Save money on your broadband bill

If you’re out of contract, compare prices online to see if you can get a better deal elsewhere. Check your current broadband speed, and ask yourself if you need this fast of a speed, or if you can save money by downgrading.

If you don’t want to leave your current provider, you can try haggling down your existing bill. When haggling, explain the better deals you’ve seen elsewhere then ask if the company can match or beat that price.

The best time to try and negotiate a better deal is near the end of your contract or, sometimes when a price rise has been announced.

You may be able to leave penalty-free when a mid-contract price rise is announced, although not if the price rise was already written into your contract. If you claim benefits, check if you can save money by signing up for a cheaper social tariff.
