Upgrade your TV and Samsung will hand you a phone for free but there are only hours left

Samsung is handing out free Galaxy S25 mobiles to shoppers who did this before the deadline

S25 free deal Samsung
There’s still hours left to get a free S25

Anyone in search of a new Samsung Galaxy mobile has a lot of deals to choose from. Unlike rival brand Apple, which rarely hands out freebies or cuts hundreds off the price, anyone looking for a new Galaxy S25 device can get it for free.

Samsung is offering the standard S25 for free to anyone who pre-orders one of its newest TVs. Shoppers who use the code SPRING at the online checkout will also receive the £799 6.2-inch mobile for £0.

The catch is that shoppers have to pre-order a new TV to get the S25 for free, and prices start at more than £1,000. Despite reaching as much as £4,999 for a 2025 65-inch Neo QLED model, there are still some of its smaller devices in stock – like the 55″ Neo QLED QN85F 4K Vision AI Smart TV priced at £1,499.

After taking away the £799 price of the S25, this technically cuts the price of the 55-inch Neo QLED model to £700. Ideal for any shoppers in need of a living room gogglebox upgrade and a flashy phone.

There are some key things to note. The first being the deal deadline, as this limited-time offer ends in a few hours – or 11:59 tonight, Tuesday, May 27, to be exact. The next is stock levels. The cheaper TVs, including the QN80F 4K and QN93F 4K are already out of stock, and even once the free S25 deal ends it’s not known if these screen sizes will come back in stock.

Samsung certainly paves the way when it comes to free offers. In the last week, it has handed out a number of freebies to its shoppers, including the double storage offer currently being handed out on its newest S25 Edge mobile.

Apple shoppers will need to shop at third-party retailers if they want a better rate, like EE and the much cheaper AirPods Pro 2 price it’s offering compared to the Apple store. For other TV shoppers whose budget doesn’t stretch as far as £1000 plus for a new device, there are other deals around, albeit not on flagship 2025 TVs.

Argos is currently offering discounts through its discount code sale. Shoppers can get 10% off this 4K 55-inch TCL model. Or get a 4K UHD HDR Samsung TV for less than £200.

For those wondering what the difference is between a standard OLED or UHD 4K TV and a QLED 4K TV, it’s all to do with brightness and colours, with the latter offering vibrant colour. They are also said to offer quick speeds for quick motion content.

However, there are some drawbacks worth noting. For example, colours on a NEO QLED can appear faded if viewed from a side angle rather than front on, and there are potential motion blur issues.
