WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT Suresh Dore, 40, was taken into custody by police on Sunday after he was accused of murdering his daughter during a violent drunken outburst, police said
A father allegedly smashed his one-year-old daughter’s head on the floor in a drunken rage after she wouldn’t stop crying, according to police. Suresh Dore, 40, was taken into custody by authorities on Sunday after he was accused of murdering his daughter during a violent drunken outburst.
Police in India allege the man killed the little girl by smashing her head on the floor after he was irritated by her crying. The suspect tried to flee the scene but was quickly captured by police.
“If he had fled, it would have been difficult to nab him as he doesn’t own a mobile phone and is a daily wager,” police inspector Prasad Pandhare said. Dore, who has four children from three wives, has been accused previously of coming home and being violent, police claim.
“His first two wives, too, had left him due to domestic abuse and third wife left him a month and half ago. His eldest son was five-years-old, second son, four-year-old then two daughters aged three and one. When the third wife left, she asked him to take care of his children and left,” the officer added. The suspect remains in custody.
The horrific incident comes just days after a 19-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed 40 times and “left bleeding in her private parts” by her “boyfriend”, according to a harrowing autopsy. The victim, who has not been named, had been reported missing by authorities on Saturday evening in India.
Tragically, police later discovered her brutally murdered body on a farm on Sunday. According to the autopsy report released on Monday, “there were more than 40 stab wounds all over her body, including her private parts, and she likely died of excessive bleeding.”
Mohd Rafi, 20, was identified as a possible suspect by police, and when interviewed, claimed that he was her “boyfriend” and had been upset she was “speaking to another man for the past three months.”
Rafi allegedly told police he tried to strangle her, but she fell unconscious and “he mercilessly stabbed her with a screwdriver until she ceased to breathe.”
The report revealed the victim was also stabbed several times in her private parts with the screwdriver as an “act of revenge.” She also suffered a deep cut on her neck.
Police spokesperson Karan Pal Singh told local media in the Moradabad district in India: “The accused is a poultry seller, who claims to have gifted a mobile phone to the victim with whom he was in touch for over a year.”
The victim’s heartbroken mum believes her daughter was being “harassed” and “pressured” to be in a relationship with the accused. She told authorities: “My daughter left home on Saturday evening after saying that she was going to collect fodder for goats. When she did not return, we started looking for her.
“The matter reached the police after my daughter was found murdered in a cornfield. We suspect Mohd Rafi’s involvement as he used to often harass my daughter and pressure her to be in a relationship.”
