‘I’ve managed to make £10k on Vinted by using these essential selling methods’

A woman has shared how she has managed to make over £10,000 by selling her unwanted items online and using some key selling tactics. If you’re drowning in clothes you never wear, it might be the perfect moment for a thorough declutter – and selling online is a smart move. Not only does it help organise your home, but gets you some extra cash, which always helps as the cost of living burns a hole in our pockets.

While eBay, Depop, and Facebook Marketplace have long been go-to platforms for offloading pre-loved fashion, Vinted has recently emerged as a top contender. While most Vinted users make a small amount of cash on the app, you could be making thousands. Isabella, a mum who dubs herself as a “girly on a hustle mission”, has proved that it is possible.

The savvy Vinted seller shared on TikTok recently that in May she managed to make £963.70 on Vinted. Isabella, who also makes good money on Amazon and Ebay, has shared her top tips for successfully selling on Vinted.

Firstly, Isabella says in order to get people visiting your page and sell lots of items, you need to be regularly uploading and be consistent. Isabella said: “Post four to seven items daily, don’t post them all on the same day as they then become lost.”

She also suggests that if you have not sold an item after seven days, delete the item and repost it. This is a good strategy to increase its visibility, meaning a sale is more likely. However, Vinted does warn that excessive re-listing can be seen as spam.

On Vinted Ebay Depop Sellers Buying & Selling group on Facebook, one individual shared that they had recently tried this method. They shared: “I tried this last week with a few of my oldest listings which were a year old and I had reduced the prices a number of times but just weren’t selling…I took new photos for some and some I just screenshot and reused pics…increased the prices to what they were when I first listed. I did this for about eight listings and sold four so definitely worth doing.”

Like many other Vinted sellers have suggested, Isabella also insists that photographing your items on a plain background, such as a white wall, white bedding or clean carpet can help with sales. It allows the buyer to clearly see the item, colours, and avoid background distraction. She added: “Use natural lighting, good quality images and always show at least three images of the item.”

Another recommendation is that if you package your item well, you are more likely to get a good review and the buyer is less likely to want to return the item. Another hack is to offer bundles. Isabella said: “Offering bundle discounts, even if it’s only 5%. This will make the buyer want to buy more.”

She also noted that being proactive with posting your items and replying to buyers can help get you a good review. Isabella said: “Having good reviews is essential when selling on Vinted – shows that you are reliable and the items are likely to be as described.”

In the past, Robyn Mort revealed how she pocketed £1528.01 on Vinted with her “side hustle” of quick-fire sales on the app. Plus, another seller became a full-time Vinted seller and transformed her pastime into a “six-figure business at the age of 20”.
