As thousands marched against Donald Trump’s authoritarian streak across America under the banner “No Kings”, Trump fans suggested their guy could be the last US President ever
Donald Trump should be made king, the 2028 election will be cancelled and Joe Biden was executed and replaced with an actor in a mask.
That’s according to Trump fans who travelled across America to attend the President’s birthday tank parade.
Dozens of tanks and thousands of soldiers took to the streets of Washington DC in a demonstration of American military the like of which has might not seen for decades.
On paper the event was to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army.
But most people the Mirror spoke to at the event said Trump’s 79th birthday was the main draw.
Trump’s speech was brief, scripted and largely apolitical.
But as always with Trump, there were dogwhistles. He said of the US Army: “They fight, fight, fight…” – the same intonation he shouted to the crowd after the attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania.
And when he came onstage for the speech, the band struck up the patriotic song ‘My Country ’tis of Thee’ – which shares a tune with God Save the King.

Meanwhile, across the country, thousands of protests sprung up against Trump’s authoritarian tendencies – under the banner “No Kings”.
Gregory, who came from New Jersey to watch the parade in a bright white shirt, suit and tie, said he was there to celebrate the birthday of “America’s dad – Donald J Trump.”
And some of those in the crowd wanted to see Trump stay in office longer than the constitution allows. Much longer, in fact.
Asked if he wanted to see Trump’s name on the ballot in 2028, Edward X Young from New Jersey said: “I hope so.”
But Rose, his friend from Pennsylvania, went further.
“I think Donald Trump is gojng to be the last President,” adding she doesn’t think the 2028 election will take place.
“I think the Democrats have destroyed our democratic process with elections, Edward said. “They’ve corrupted jt so bad. Let’s face it, this is the greatest President in the history of our country….I want Trump for king.”
Michael Neill, who travelled from New Hampshire for Trump’s birthday, believes Joe Biden was “executed for treason” while in office, and the crime was covered up by replacing him with an actor.
“The movie Mission Impossible, the masks? Thats a real thing, folks,” he said. “Theres a lot of masks going on and we’re about to find out.”
Later, Rose asked if we believed Princess Diana was still really dead. She does not.
Joseph, from Texas, who wore a MAGA hat and a “you missed” tee, with an image of Trump giving the finger, said he didn’t think Trump would serve a third term.
But asked if he would vote for him again if a way could be found to change the constitution and allow him to run again, he said: “I would consider it.”
“That’s not a decision I can make,” Gregory said when asked the same question.
“But let me tell you this. I can’t think of a single President who has done more for the everyday hero, the formal hero and the country than Donald Trump.
“So just being honest with you…I recognise that the constitution prevents that, but I understand there are amendments, so I think that conversation has to be spread to a wider audience than just me.
“What I can tell you is I’ve never been happier with a President than Donald Trump.”
