Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola Peltz moved into a new £11 million five-bedroom home in Beverly Hills, California, a property bought with Nicola’s money, gifted to her by her wealthy parents
David and Victoria Beckham have today been lauded as “sensible parents” for “instilling work ethic in their children”.
A friend of the family praised the way the couple, who have four children, “never forget where they came from” and made a savage contrast to Nicola Peltz’s family. Her parents, including US billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, are thought to have gifted her the money to buy her and husband Brooklyn Beckham’s new £11 million five-bedroom home in Beverly Hills, California.
It led to Nelson, 82, and wife Claudia to accuse David and Victoria of being “tight with their cash” for not following their example and providing their eldest child with a home. However, the family friend hit back at this criticism, insisting David and Beckham – who wed in 1999 in Ireland – actually have come out the spat glowing.
They said: “Where is the impetus to stand on your own two feet and work? Do the Peltzes realise what they sound like to sneer at David and Victoria for not buying Brooklyn and Nicola a house? The Peltzes clearly think it’s a positive thing but the Beckhams don’t.
“All this does is prove that they are sensible parents who have instilled a work ethic in their children and makes the Peltzes look pretty awful to have just spoilt their daughter. What message does that send?”

Despite their estimated joint wealth of £500million, Posh and Becks are understood to have always tried hard to keep their children grounded. However, Brooklyn, 26, agreed to move to Beverly Hills after Nelson, who has 10 children, offered to pay for the property, as it is said the place has “always felt like home to Brooklyn”. He spent time at school there when his dad played for LA Galaxy, for whom he made 98 appearances.
Sources close to the Peltz family say Nelson, a founder of an alternative investment management fund, “threw money at anything and everything” when his children were growing up. It contrasts hugely to Victoria and Beckham’s parenting, and their own upbringings. David, now 50, grew up in a modest semi in Chingford, East London, with his mum Sandra, a hairdresser, and dad Ted, a gas fitter. Victoria, 51, had a more middle-class upbringing in Harlow, Essex, but her family were hardly millionaires.
The source told Mail Online: “David and Victoria, like Nelson, are self-made. But they value that and never forget where they came from. They have both made a huge number of sacrifices to get to where they are.”
The apparent feud between the two clans has seen Brooklyn, a chef, effectively estranged from his family. He and Nicola didn’t attend David’s 50th birthday celebrations, including a party in London.
