Dua Lipa is “overwhelmed” after her two-night sell-out shows at Wembley Stadium, which saw more 140,000 fans make their way to London to see her perform. The singer cemented herself as a true icon as she stunned her audience with a series of sensational outfits, before topping it off by bringing out a different special guest for each gig.

The first night saw her make an emotional entrance to legendary stage in front of her adoring fans, with the 29-year-old breaking down in tears after realising the gravity of her achievement. Writing on Instagram on Sunday (June 22) as she came down from the weekend, Dua shared her heartfelt gratitude for her fans and supporters.

She wrote: “2 SOLD OUT NIGHTS AT WEMBLEY STADIUM!! I can hardly believe it. These were the most special, unforgettable shows I’ve ever done!!!

“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. For this journey. For every single person who’s stood by me, believed in me, sung with me, danced with me, and shared in this dream.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the incredible team on stage and behind the scenes who pour so much love and work into making this possible. I truly couldn’t have done this without you. Wembley, you have my heart. Forever.”

Her fans had camped out at the stadium since Thursday night, hoping to get to the front row to see their idol up close while she delivered some of their favourite songs. Speaking to the crowd, Dua said: “It means the absolute world to me that you’re here tonight. It feels really special to be here today.”

The Be The One singer continued: “It’s been ten years since our first ever London show, which happened to be about 350 people, and I dreamt of a night like this that I get to be in front of 70,000 people. I’m so, so blown away.”

Dua’s concerts have made her one of just a handful of female solo artists to headline the stadium. The stage is reserved for only the biggest and most successful artists, with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Adele, P!NK and Rihanna all headlining at the venue.

On the first of her two nights, she was joined on the stage by Jamiroquai, with whom she performed a rendition of their 1996 hit, Virtual Insanity. Vocalist Jay Kay wore his classic black hat, paired with a white fringed jacket and purple trousers, as he took to the stage for his surprise appearance.

And on the second night, fans were thrilled when Dua welcomed her friend Charli XCX as her special guest. Bringing her pal out on to the stage, Charli said: “I thought I’d bring a friend out. Let me tell you, she is the biggest brat I have ever known.” The pair then launched into Charli’s hit 360 together, off her sixth studio album Brat.
