‘I swear by this skincare-infused skin tint in summer for its coverage and bargain price’

By staff22 June 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Shopping Writer Meghan loves a good full-coverage foundation, but every summer she reaches for this skin tint that’s lightweight without losing pigment – and it’s super affordable

It’s no secret that I’m a sworn Maybelline fan – when it comes to drugstore make-up, I’ll rarely use anything else. That said, it took me ages to try the iconic Super Stay Skin Tint when it first released, because skin tints tend to drop the full coverage and lean more towards a light/medium finish.

While that is great for summer, as the serum-like formula makes it more lightweight and enhances natural features without clogging pores, I love a full-coverage foundation, and I didn’t think a skin tint would be right for me. But after trying the Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint last summer, I’ve never gone back.

Infused with skincare benefits, this skin tint perfectly balances the perks of a full-coverage foundation while remaining super light on the skin. It offers a natural finish that doesn’t weigh your skin down in warmer temperatures and comes in 60 shades to suit nearly all skin tones. And the best part? You get all of that for £13.93.

My always-reached-for complexion product during the summer months is touted as a lightweight foundation infused with vitamin C for radiant, skin-like coverage. It promises up to 24-hour staying power and resists sweat, humidity, and wear-off, which is why it’s my top pick for all summer occasions, whether that’s days at work, late nights out, afternoons at the beach, and so much more.

With a thinner, serum-like consistency, this skin tint blends seamlessly whether you’re using a brush or a beauty blender. Offering a luminous, soft-velvet finish, this skin tint could easily be left without powder for a glowing, healthy look – equally, the Maybelline Fit Me powder pairs well with the foundation, drying it down to reduce any unwanted shine without drying it out or causing cakeiness.

As for the staying power, I’ve found this skin tint definitely lives up to its 24-hour claims. Though I’ve had times where it’s begun to shift around my nose (my problem area) or has smudged off around my mouth after eating, this has typically happened after many hours of wearing it, and usually only if the temperatures have been high, I’ve been particularly active, or if its gotten wet at some point during the day.

Otherwise, I’ve put this skin tint on first thing in the morning before work, back when I worked in hospitality, and would wear it through the duration of my 10 to 12-hour work day without the need for a top-up. There have been times I’ve worn the makeup all day, then worn it straight out to a bar or to the club, and fallen asleep with it on – definitely putting the 24-hour promise to the test. And when I’ve woken up, the make-up has looked good enough to walk straight out of the house without reapplying.

Formulated to deliver 24-hour wear, the skincare-infused foundation utilises vitamin C, which enriches the formula to illuminate the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while delivering antioxidant protection, helping improve your complexion in the long run.

The only downside I have found, which is why I don’t tend to wear this skin tint during the winter months, is while they offer a massive 60 shades that cater to all skin types and a range of undertones, I am naturally incredibly pale, and Maybelline’s palest shade is still slightly too dark for me. It’s perfect for the summer when I’m regularly tanned, but when I’m back to my natural skin colour in the colder months, the lightest shade isn’t light enough. That said, I have mixed it with paler foundations before to still incorporate it into my base, and it blends seamlessly with all foundations I’ve paired it with.

You can pick up my beloved Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint on Amazon for £13.95, or for £13.99 from Lookfantastic, Boots or ASOS.
