Israel vows to ‘attack with force’ after accusing Iran of breaking ceasefire

By staff24 June 2025No Comments2 Mins Read

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a statement saying the military will “respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran”

Israel has vowed to “respond forcefully” after accusing Iran of violating the new ceasefire just hours after it was put in place.

Sirens sounded across northern Israel warning residents to evacuate after Iran allegedly flouted the agreement with a fresh wave of missiles. Israelis have been seen racing to shelters amid the ongoing threat from Iranian strikes.

Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz claims Iran’s “violation of the ceasefire” will not go unpunished, adding that he’s ordered the Israel Defence Forces to “respond forcefully”. He said they will be deploying “intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran”.

A spokesperson for the IDF, Chief of Staff Major General Eyal Zamir, said: “In light of the serious ceasefire violation committed by the Iranian regime, we will attack with force.”

Iran’s state broadcaster has rejected claims that the country launched missiles after the ceasefire deadline.

Donald Trump announced the ceasefire was in place on his social media platform, Truth Social, as he shared news of his breakthrough with both countries.

He wrote: “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR’.”

“This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”

Iran had been told to stop fighting a few hours after the post, while Israel agreed to the proposal just after 7am UK time this morning.

Both countries continued to fire missiles until the very last moment. A strike in southern Israel left four people dead and caused extensive damage. In Tehran, residents reported a sleepless night as Israeli strikes targeted the capital.
