Streaming sticks provide access to an incredible amount of TV shows and films via hundreds of channels and apps, including Netflix and Disney+. The Amazon Fire Stick is arguably the go-to choice, however there’s another streaming stick on the block that shoppers can now snap up for less, making it cheaper than Amazon’s gadget.

The Roku Streaming Stick retails for £49.99 at Roku and Currys, and usually costs the same price at Argos, however thanks to TopCashback’s £15 cashback offer at Argos, the device can be picked up for £34.37 for new customers after cashback. For existing customers it will be slightly more at £34.57.

The streaming stick provides ‘breath-taking’ picture quality with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ that offers ‘sharp resolution and vivid colour’. As well as providing access to streaming apps, the device has hundreds of free, live, and paid-for channels, including the free Emmy-nominated Roku Originals on The Roku Channel.

The slim Roku Streaming Stick 4K simply plugs into the TV for a quick and easy set up and comes with an HDMI cable. The included voice remote control can be used to power on the television and control the Roku device, plus households can simply talk into the remote to quickly find the show or film they are looking for.

For shoppers wanting to check out the latest generation Amazon Fire Stick, it costs £39.99 and allows users to stream TV shows and films in Full HD. It comes with an Alexa-enabled remote control that will work with the device.

The streaming stick upgrades any TV to HD 4K.

Over 280 Argos customers have reviewed the Roku Streaming Stick 4K, awarding it an overall rating of 4.7 out of five. One impressed buyer wrote: “We bought this as our Chromecast stopped working… This is absolutely brilliant. It has transformed our TV, the picture is amazing and there are so many channels to watch, we will never be short of something to entertain us. No casting involved, but it can if you want it to. One of our best buys.”

“Absolutely amazing,” commented another satisfied shopper. “I bought it less than a month ago and it’s fantastic. Nice colours, it doesn’t freeze at all and you can find everything you need on it. The best tool to make your normal TV into a smart one without any hassle.”

Unfortunately one Argos customer was left unimpressed with the Roku Streaming Stick 4K, as they explained: “I was initially really pleased with my purchase, and setting up my profile was nice and easy. Sadly once I started watching programmes I noticed the really annoying audio lag. I tried many of the Roku suggestions to correct it, but it’s still lagging. It’s now unplugged and sitting in a drawer…. very disappointed.”

In contrast, someone else said: “Great streamer, far better than Firestick. Fast with superior picture quality. Highly recommended.”

Another buyer agreed, with their glowing five-star review reading: “Super impressed with this device. I was worried about moving away from the firestick, but the improved options and interface for the price is absolutely brilliant. Could not recommend it highly enough.”

To take advantage of the TopCashback offer to get the Roku Streaming Stick 4K for less, new members can sign up for free here. Search for Argos and click ‘Get Cashback Now’.

Shop and checkout on the website as usual, and the cashback will track and appear in the TopCashback account within seven working days of the purchase. The £15 cashback will become payable and available to withdraw and spend after Argos has paid TopCashback the commission for the purchase.
