Chelsea take on Brazilian side Palmeiras in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup. The much-discussed FIFA competition threw up its biggest shock so far this week with Manchester City falling at the last-16 stage to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.

Enzo Maresca’s side now find themselves as the Premier League’s last representatives as they gun for a place in the semi-finals against Fluminense, who beat Inter Milan in the round of 16, or City’s Saudi-Arabian conquerors. However, they must first find a way past Brazil’s most storied and successful club in Palmeiras.

Chelsea made their way into the last eight after a colossal last-16 clash with Benfica that saw them triumph 4-1 after extra time. Goals from Reece James, Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall ensured the Blues carry the English flag into the quarter-finals.

Palmeiras, meanwhile, came through a tough game with compatriots Botafogo to become the first team to book their place in the last eight thanks to Paulinho’s extra-time strike. Here, we take a look at all you need to know to watch the clash between Palmeiras and Chelsea for free.

What time doesPalmeiras vs Chelseakick-off?

The quarter-final tie will kick off at 9pm Friday local time, which is 2am UK time on Saturday. The game will take place at the Lincoln Financial Field, which is the home of the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.

What is the Palmeiras vs Chelseateam news?

Chelsea’s Benoit Badiashile looks certain to miss the tie after coming off injured against Benfica. Moises Caicedo will also sit out the fixture due to suspension. Nicolas Jackson, however, is set to make his return after a ban to give the Blues’ forward line a boost.

Palmerias coach Abel Ferreira will be without his round of 16 hero Paulinho. The Brazilian outfit will also be missing their captain Gustavo Gomez and Joaquin Piquerez through suspension. Palmerias’ Chelsea-bound star, Estevao, will be able to play against his future team, though.
