A great way to add lighting to your garden, without spending extra on electricity, is to add some solar lights. They not only look pretty, but they also offer additional lighting for evening gatherings.

Argos has plenty on offer, including a set of lantern-shaped solar lights that shoppers say ‘light up the garden lovely!’ The Powertek Solar Deluxe Fence Lights are priced at £25, and come in a pack of four.

They give off an ambient, warm light and are designed to be mounted onto a fence. They charge during the day to provide up to eight hours of usage at night, Powertek claims.

Meanwhile, Wowcher has a set of 100 LED solar lights for £13, with an RRP of £30. They are designed with eight modes, including steady, fade, waves and also have colour options too.

Argos’ set of Powertek lights is made from durable, weather-resistant plastic and is designed in a classical style with square white windows. The solar lights have an overall customer satisfaction rating of 4.6 from Argos buyers.

One buyer said: “So cute! Light up the garden lovely! We have four on each side of garden easy to put up and do the job!”

An additional customer wasn’t as pleased, saying: “The lights look pretty but very minimal light comes out of them.”

Another added: “These are the best lights I have brought in a long while. They are nice-looking and give light. I would recommend buying them.”

A fourth customer bought them a few months ago, saying: “They are very nice. They are on all the time because there is no motion sensor, but that is what I wanted to light up my front path to our door.

“They are sweet, pretty lights that make the place look homely for visitors, and they are bright enough to get the job done. They are just like the ones in the picture. I have put them on the house wall and they look great.”
