Shoppers have said the experience leaves hair feeling great and looking ‘salon-styled all day’
People say they feel like they’re walking out of a hair salon after using a heated hairbrush that delivers “sleek, salon-quality results in minutes.” The Shark SmoothStyle Heated Brush and Comb is normally a pricy tool, but it costs just under £100 online.
But, during this week’s (July 8-11) Amazon Prime Day sale, people who were waiting to buy one could get it for less than half price at £49.49 (51% discount). The all-in-one haircare device combines a “smoothing hot brush and comb”, which claims to work well on both wet and dry hair.
Amazon says the brush can “create voluminous styles with a smooth, soft finish.” And, you can “effortlessly” switch between the tool’s two modes.

The wet option allows you to “dry, volumise and style with no heat damage,” while the dry mode allows you to “smooth, align and shape hair for weightless bounce”. The integrated heated smoothing comb brings everything together, drying hair with lower temperatures (compared to traditional flat irons) for “a soft, bouncy, healthy-looking finish”.
There are similar products out there for those wanting to upgrade their hair tools online, with options such as the BaByliss Hydro-Fusion Anti Frizz 4-in-1 Hair Dryer Brush (Argos, £80), Mermade Hair Blow Dry Brush Pink Style And Dry In One (Superdrug, £43.99), and the Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser (Boots, down from £49.99 to £29.99). However, the Shark tool available at a major discount on Amazon has lots of people convinced.
One said: “A fantastic option for sleek, salon-quality results at home!” Another added: “The hot air technology works well to tame frizz and add shine, and the three temperature settings cater to different hair types. It’s easy to use and perfect for quick touch-ups or full styling, though it might take some practice for beginners!”
A third wrote: “Because of my fine, straight hair, just a styler dryer has never been sufficient, and the style has never lasted more than a few hours. The fact that this switches to a hot brush is a genius idea. It heats up very quickly and leaves my hair looking salon-styled all day.”
Some were less than impressed with the Shark tool, though, claiming: “Very heavy and the brush is huge, maybe good for very long and very thick hair but I don’t believe it works well.” Another added: “Wet to dry turns my hair into a frizzy mess. Dry styling is slightly more successful, but still looks terrible!”
A third suggested to others: “I struggled to hold this, found it too heavy. The brush is quite large – might be OK for longer hair but I think it would be difficult to style shorter hair. Hopefully, they will make a lighter, smaller brush version soon.”
But, most reviews were positive. Another shopper said: “I love the hot comb for days in between washes. My hair honestly looks and feels like I’ve been to the hairdresser’s every time I use it.”
